The mule

Had a great cocktail (the house mule) and a really good Cobb salad. It's amazing to have an excellent bar this far north of Leesburg. Can't wait to come back for brunch.

So grateful to have a place with vision to serve the route 15, Leesburg/Lucketts area. Great cocktails, great staff, great food, great location. We needed this and so do you!

Good service. Cool concept, similar to Roots but a little more focused. Unremarkable sandwiches and baked goods.

I'd often be coming from my office at companies in Howard County or Halethorpe (Baltimore County), MD , so I almost took the less traffic northern route down I-70 to Frederick & down US 15 to avoid often times traffic somewhere on 495, avoiding toll on Dulles Toll Road & Green Way or slow of VA-7 all the way to Leesburg. The multiple times I was going down US 15, I was thinking it was a cute place, but left turn in and left turn out with sometimes a lot of traffic to make the left back onto US 15 wasn't worth it. And sometimes wouldn't be going back the same way as until 2017 lived in NoVA And even 2017-2020 Wheaton, MD, I'd still often tough it out take VA-7 to 495 and deal with nasty traffic to get back home. On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, I happened to have not eaten lunch, took US 15 back into MD, and decided to eat a late lunch here at Roots 657 on the southside of the small hamlet of Lucketts, VA. The outside of this place looks like a large barn. Inside the store, there's a gift shop like what you might see at Cracker Barrel, but less cramped and nicer. Ordering was at a counter with a chalk-written menu above. Staff was cordial. And the burger was big quite possibly the best burger I had in 2018 and a lot of fries too. Although work travel to Leesburg is highly unlikely these days, if I'm ever out there for work or other reason, I'd definitely want to revisit this gem.

Aside from the tasty sandwiches and coffee, I can say with certainty that God is present here! I will never forget when I came here several years ago with a friend and there was a woman present that was clearly having some drug related issue, and while my friend and I were trying to figure out what to do, a priest happened to show up and immediately offered to take her to the hospital. Ever since then I knew this place was the real deal!

But I was thirsty when I happened to be walking past Trinity House this past Friday, and I stopped in. The cafe is large, with lots of comfortable seating. The main room had tons of windows and great light. I had enough time to enjoy a cold drink and read my book at one of their tables next to a window. I think it's a great place for studying, reading, or working - comfortable seating, great light, and a menu of beverages and snacks. They clearly have a mission, which I don't know much about, and the the things they sell weren't for me (crosses and Bibles and other Christian themed items), but the cafe was very comfortable.

I'm glad we picked this brewery since it had all amenities we were looking for. They have a good selection of food and tons of very reasonably priced drinks. They also have food trucks outside that serve food till 6 pm. The brewery is open till 10 pm and last call is at 9 so no one is rushing people out at sunset. There was also a wedding the day we were there which was so lovely! We got tacos and hot dogs which were great. We also got the dreamsicle frose and a bunch of beer flights to try. We sat inside earlier in the day when it was hotter since the dogs would be uncomfortable in the heat but at 5'pm the weather got real nice so we moved outdoors. They also have an alpaca which the kids went crazy for and also lots of goats. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a great time outdoors with the option of moving the party indoors if needed. They also have live music indoors which we really enjoyed.

We were able to decide what to order before we made it to the counter. This is a popular place. What looked like a long line moved quickly. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered a few breakfast sandwiches and a few beverages! Our directions were to stand aside for our beverages and then we could wait elsewhere, even outside on the patio for our food order. We were given a pager. The logistics of their system worked quite smoothly. Our chai tea latte and iced vanilla latte with cinnamon were on point! And our breakfast sandwiches (egg and cheese on sourdough & ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant) were freshly prepared and delicious! Yum! The menu is diverse and there's a dog-friendly patio where tables have umbrellas. This is a special place and you should definitely stop by when in Harper's Ferry.
