I go to Staples photocopying centres all over Metro Vancouver. This was my first time at the Capilano location. I spent $5 photocopying before I realized the light ink (B+W) was barely legible. I asked for help from a rep. She did not give me a refund and could not tell what setting the machine was at. She pointed out that the receipt was in dark legible ink but could not explain the differentiation. I changed printers. This printer too was too light to be considered readable. I enlisted the help of another service rep who recommended I do it for free behind the counter. That rep was then taken to help someone else and another rep stepped in. Already a considerable amount of time had passed and she worked at a snail's pace to provide one copy of legible print. She then explained she could do it for $0.24 a page. I asked her if that was why they had the lightest setting in the copy centre, so that they could charge more for full ink? She then said I could talk to a manager. A huge waste of time with horrible service and no refund. North Burnaby is a great location that I have used over 100 times with no issue...or print at home for small jobs. read more

One of the main reasons I even come to this store is because it is right beside my gym, right beside, and if it is still open after my workout, I walk around before I head to my car. On occassion I have found things to buy here, and have even sent my boss here to buy those Keurig K-cups as they were clearing them out. It's a big Staples, and one that is not too far from that other one in the next city in that mall, but if this is the only place you got to go to, forget the mall, just come here! Usually, once you walk through the automatic opening doors there is a table set up, usually with their sale items, but more likely for their clearance items, and this store has quite a bit of clearance stuff, sometimes expanding to another table near the copy side to the left. Tons of spots right in front of the Staples, as the underground is usually for people who are going to the gym next door, just watch out, as it's only 30 minute parking (but do you really need any more time in a Staples?) and I have seen tickets on cars..... As I said, dodge the mall if you gotta come to Staples.. there is another one.. and it's not too far. read more

Extremely unprofessional. I went to do a "package free return" with them for something purchased through amazon as they were close and showed up through the amazon-linked purolator search. After saying that my box was too small for the return, they still went ahead and starting printing everything out and told me I had to purchase a box on aisle 3 so everything would fit. I told them that there was no way I'm purchasing a box for a free return and they tried to tell me that they had started the process and couldn't stop it. After a few back-and-forths they finally relented and said they could cancel the return. What was worst was the rude attitude of the lady at the "solutions" counter. They have now lost me as a customer for life. Hope that was worth the however much potential profit was in that box they were trying to sell me. read more

I was visiting Vancouver and needed to get some copies done. I walked toward the self-serve printer/copying and since it's credit card charges only, I asked for assistance and one of the attendants standing by very rudely, said, "the instructions are there!". Of no help at all. So, I went and stood in line to see the clerk at the desk. I was in line for close to 15 min since she moved at a snail's pace, and when it was my turn, I told her I wanted copies done and she told me to go to the self-serve stations and I explained to her that I asked for help and the other guy refused to help me and that I'd like to pay cash and not credit card and she (YASI) told me well, "I will have to charge you a service fee of $3. FOR WHAT?!! DOING YOUR JOB??!! I asked her, "well, can you assist me with the self serve machines and she said, "I'M TOO BUSY!" not only was she rude and dismissive but very spiteful. Then I asked her, well, "Can you get someone else to assist me?" and she once again said, "NO, I'M TOO BUSY CAN'T LEAVE MY STATION!" I have never witnessed such distasteful, arrogant and rude customer service in my life. Honestly , she should not be in service or should be re-trained! Since I was dealing with someone who had absolutely no interest in business, service and basic human interaction, I picked up my folder and headed for the door very upset! On my way I had to pick up scotch tape and while paying for it, another attendant at the cashier (MANTEK) helped me and he was very friendly and I told him about my issue and he proceeded to help me finally got my prints. I told him about my severe dissatisfaction with YASI and the other attendant who wouldn't help me, and MANTEK apologized and smoothed things over. It was because of him, I did not storm out. Some people should not be in service (YASI) and some people should (MANTEK). I got a taste of both at this Staples location. read more

The worth costumer service i have seen in my entire live since i have lived in vancouver,their costumer service is zero and the knowledge of their people also zero. Few month ago i spend $80 on one tuner ,my printer stop working later i take it back with my received they did not accepted because it is more than a month ,did not return it They just offer me store credit which i did not like it Later i lost my received and call them in first they said ok but we i got there after half an hour they said no because it is more than three months , their costumer service man advice me either sold it on line or recycle it.This is not my first bad experience whit this bad company and promise my wife never go back to this store read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY I have never received worse service in my life. On top of failing to fill my 2 hour order for pick up 3 DAYS later they would not credit me for their 50$ coupon for purchases over $900 in store or online after sending it to me as a promotional offer. Their head office was extremely rude and hard to contact, and they did not at all compensate me for my inconvenience. I had to buy a second laptop in store just to get my laptop that day despite their advertised 2 hour pickup which is a sham. I even phoned ahead to inform the manager of the situation and he was helping 1 of 2 customers in a line at a second cashier instead of servicing me, who did not have my order filled despite their promotional advertising. He had me wait over 10 minutes and then brought out the wrong product after keeping me waiting so he could socialize at his till with the 1 of 2 customers at 2 tills. Worst. Service. Ever. read more

I remember seeing a sale advertised on a forum for staples so I walked in to this location and rushed over to the video games right away to see if they had any of the mentioned items(They didn't) the manager rushes(borderline running) over to the aisle next to me and pretends like his looking at something but he was obviously making sure I wasn't a thief. Just today I see a sale for a computer monitor on there website as I'm looking to upgrade from my current monitor same shit the manager was watching me like a hawk. I'm still going to buy the monitor because it's the cheapest I seen. Either way the manager makes me feel uncomfortable every time I go in. No reason to be all militant Buddie. You don't need to treat everyone like a thief because you're angry and wasted all your potential mangering a store that sells office supplies. IMO. My wife is working from home (like allot of people these days) and is trying to have her computer set up. We both are not computer savvy at all. We ended up buying a wrong adapter for the computer. I went back to exchange it. As soon as I walked in, the cashier AVA snapped at me and said, "you do know that we are closing in 5 minutes right?" She instantly made me feel uncomfortable. After listening to her sigh and watching her roll her eyes at me I explained that I needed help and for someone to show me where something was. I told her multiple times that I wanted to do an EXCHANGE. She refunded me the original 50 dollars back not listening to anything I said. I stood there waiting for her to run me through with the new item. She stood there and starred at me and said , "what?" very rudely. If I wasn't an honest person I could have walked right out with the product without paying. People in the line were laughing at her because she was so rude and clueless. They claim to match advertised prices elsewhere, then when presented with such, do whatever they can to wiggle out of it. When asked to produce a copy of their policy, there was no such policy, in fact, they were supposed to match, and did not. Shopped at a lot of Staples over the years - this place really takes the prize for first class poor service, surprised they are still in business. Their printer toner stock is pretty extensive nd that works for me. And if you are in a hurry and have a reasonable sized order for work, they will deliver it to your business. Sincerely the worst customer service I have ever received. Not much of a staples customer to begin with due to their drastic over-pricing but I came to this location to do some printing. I brought a USB with my files and navigated the system myself as the attendant working that station was more interested in checking her phone than assisting customers. I had to approach her when my USB wouldn't read and she lazily gave me her card to use the internet (free of charge with her card she said) so I could get the file I wanted to print from my email. I made my copies at an alleged advertised price of 0.10c/page. When I was done I went to return her card and pay for my copies but she was busy with another guest. I waited for about ten minutes and even asked another employee to help me but they said I had to wait. I went to the front cash to pay for my print job but the cashier said she "had no clue" how to process that payment. I asked the manager who was standing nearby if he could help me and again he said that only this ONE girl knew how to process payments for printing. (Seriously). Finally I was seen by the girl in the print station who tried to charge me 2 minutes of internet time as well as 0.75c/page (incorrect pricing). I asked the manager to override my internet time charge because it was not my USB that didn't work but rather THEIR system of reading it (they confirmed that their machine only read files from PC and not mac - my USB file was set up for PC but they didn't have the latest version to read the file). He literally said to me, "that's your problem, not ours". Apart from incredibly RUDE and inattentive, I have little faith that the manager or his staff are competently trained for their jobs. The salespeople are outright liars at this store. After purchasing an HP printer, we were told that the HP printer did not come with ink and were sold the ink, only to get home and find ink included with the printer. The salesperson(Abul) also told us that we needed to purchase a $30.cable to run the machine wirelessly, so we purchased the cable only to find out when setting up the printer, that this cable was not necessary. There was also a HP salesperson talking with us who went along with all of the deceiving things that Abul was telling us. I am disgusted with the lack of honesty that these salespeople demonstrated at this store. I will return the items that were unnecessarily sold and go out of my way to shop somewhere else. read more

This store is great for sale items. I got a shredder for $25 -- half the regular price. And their sales are real sales. I also checked out some stuff at the store then ordered it online. Sometimes, the items are cheaper online. In this case, the two bookcases weren't cheaper online. Either way -- in-store or online -- shipping is free for orders over $50. And it's next-day shipping. I was pretty happy with that. I decided against one of two bookcases I had ordered, and the customer service rep said I could return it for free. Not bad. read more
