The business does not accept most insurance. The glasses were very expensive and have broken multiple times. The lenses also delaminated.

Raphael was incredibly kind and helpful! I had ordered two pairs of glasses from a third-party online retailer (a mistake on my part) after moving away from my local optometrist and having broke both pairs. They ended up being far too tight on my head and nose. After months of discomfort and headaches, I finally decided to stop by Stanton Optical, and I'm so glad I did! I was greeted by the very kind Raphael, who had me sign a quick waiver before kindly adjusting both pairs for free. He even replaced the nose pads on both glasses, and the frame of the glasses! The difference was immediate, my headache from that very day disappeared soon after I put them back on as he was done. Truly amazing service. I came into this store simply looking to have my glasses tightened--a basic service I've had done countless times at other places, even when the glasses weren't purchased there. I'm currently away at school in Tallahassee, so I hoped this would be a quick, respectful visit. Instead, I was immediately dismissed when staff realized my glasses weren't from their store. After waiting longer than expected, I was finally helped by someone named John, whose behavior was nothing short of condescending. He compared my frames to "putting on your dad's slippers when you were 5 years old" and said they "swallow my face" after he had tightened them & I said it was better -- a comment I found both unprofessional and completely unnecessary. Rather than focusing on helping adjust my glasses, he chose to belittle my appearance and then showed me glasses from their store, pointing out how well his frames fit his face in contrast. I came in for a simple adjustment, not a lecture or sales pitch, and certainly not to be insulted. This experience was incredibly disrespectful and left me feeling uncomfortable and beyond disrespected. I would never recommend this store based on how poorly I was treated for not being one of their "own" customers. If you're looking for basic customer service, kindness, or professionalism--look elsewhere. There is no actual doctor. He was rude and in a rush. The doctor was on zoom and had glitches through out the eye exam. The eye exam letters are reused throughout the exam in all different sizes. The optometrist here has absolutely no bedside manner... If you're making an appointment for something critical or urgent, go elsewhere. The optometrist doesn't feel comfortable doing anything more than a basic eye exam. If you have a previous diagnosis (like astigmatism even), go elsewhere, he isn't familiar with these diagnosis. read more

Update - I went back to Stanton today (I wanting copies of everything I signed and make sure I had proof that I had paid for contacts, but not rec'd so when I went back at the end of July - after my in person eye appt there wouldn't be any issues with getting my contacts) I didn't go there to complain - I let the 1st person I saw know why I was there and he had me speak with the manager. I got to talking with Michael Thorne and I ended up telling him about my experience and he was very concerned and understanding. He realized I had had one frustrating thing happen after another and wanted to make it right. He offered me all my cost back, but I found that the price I paid for the contact was the cheapest so I agreed to just the cost of the eye exam being refunded. After speaking with him and letting him know my concerns as well as him able to answer some of the questions I had; I felt so much better after the whole experience. It seems like a business sometimes gets caught up in the way corporate wants it done, but hopefully it will have a manager (like Mr. Thorne) who still wants to take care of the customers. I have updated my rating (originally gave it one star to 3 stars) if when I get my contacts (& possible glasses) I may update it again, but that won't be until the end of July. BUYER BEWARE if you wish to do business with Stanton Optical (Magnolia) 1 - You are not seeing an Optometrist - only a tech 2 - They are on a timer so you can't ask a lot of questions or take too much time doing the eye exam. 3 - They also don't follow-up on their own orders for contacts (this was after my 1st exam - mine were supposed to come in a week, but the website keep saying it was delayed so I didn't follow-up myself until a month later and found out they didn't even process my order. When they did process my order the contacts finally came in. (even though they were the wrong prescription) 4 - If they can't get your prescription right - they will tell you to go see an Optometrist in person - so more money out of your pocket. (when I advised the contacts they were trying to give me were not correct - my right eye was blurry - they did a recheck on my eyes and I kept telling the tech - as I found out on this visit - that the right eye looking through the machine was blurry and she never got it clear, but kept asking me 1 or 2 which is better...I kept saying about the same as they were both blurry. This is when they said they couldn't do a prescription for me and that I would have to go see an eye dr in person!!! REALLY!!! I have never had an experience like this!!! Now I have to wait until late July to get my eyes checked and once I have a correct prescription then Stanton SAYS will order the correct contacts which I have already paid for! The eye doctor office (where I have made an appointment) also told me they get a lot of people from Stanton getting their eyes rechecked - so it seems it was not only my experience. He has always been very skeptical of getting glasses from any place outside his optometrist office but he needed glasses right away so we went to Stanton. So unfortunately I contracted Covid 19. So any appointments I had planned are now cancelled. All of my medical providers and other service providers have been helpful, prayerful, and understanding. BUT then I called Stanton Optical and they've made this a nightmare trying to get my contacts. I called one day and I was told they'll have someone call me back to complete my order. My call was never returned. I called back two days later and still had trouble getting someone on the phone, then I got someone and they told me they can't take my insurance over the phone. It's a pandemic and MOST companies have made adjustments to still assist customers. I ask for a manager who tells me and I quote "I don't care if you beg, cry, or plea about letting you use your insurance over the phone, it's illegal and we can't do it. You get over Covid in two weeks so you'll be able to come in before the end of the year to get your contacts." I pressed him to tell me why they couldn't do it since he kept saying they couldn't without an explanation. He says because you have to sign stuff stating you're using insurance. Why not just share that from the beginning, why not try to be more comforting over the phone as people navigate uncharted waters, compassion goes a long way. So this rant is not just about the fact that he made an already difficult situation worse, it's the fact that millions of people are experiencing this, are hundreds of thousands in the U.S. specifically are DYING from this, or so many are losing loved ones to this. So for him to say you "get over Covid in 2 weeks" is insensitive, unprofessional, and just plain stupid because some never got over it and some are still dealing with the effects of it. Just look at the numbers, they're telling. I did what I was supposed to do to protect myself, and then what? I got it too. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! There is no eye doctor! They deceive you into thinking you're going to see a doctor until you're already seated behind what appears to be optical equipment. Then a person on a screen who has no clue what they're doing starts flashing letters without listening to what you're telling them about your eyes. The topper? I get one correct lens and then one of those 1 inch lenses (IN A BLIND EYE)! I told her repeatedly I only needed a balance lens! How did it end? What a joke, they gave me credit for the lenses but not the eye exam although the eye exam was completely wrong. I fixed the prescription myself (maybe they should hire me as a better alternative to what they have now) and went online to eyebuydirect and bought a second pair from Lensabl. Much better lenses at half the price. Get an eye exam from a living doctor who you can touch and then decide where to get your glasses. Just don't do it in this place at any price. Not even for free. Took my daughter to Stanton for an eye exam and the staff could not have been friendlier. We were seen right at our appointment time and the dr was able to answer all my questions and was very knowledgeable about my daughters eye condition. The only issue I had was checkout time. It took 25 minutes after the appointment to check out. I was there at a busy time and there was only one poor girl working at the desk AND fitting people for glasses. Was skeptical about the whole situation. Walked in they send me to the back of the store to be checked in. After I'm attacked for not having a mask. They gladly gave me one. Lady who greeted me stated we're having technical difficulties just have a seat. Should have left then. So 15 mins later she calls me uo explains it's a telemedicine with the doctor and asked If ok. I asked why so much and he explains the progressive lenses are $350 alone! I politely asked for my bill to pay for my eye exam so I could leave. I knew i needed to get my eyes checked soo i started looking into making an appointment and I tried a couple of different places and they wanted to book me a month out and there was no way i could wait another month and then came across Stanton Optical and they got me in the next day..The place was busy so there was bit of a wait 1-11/2 hrs,not to bad..I was definitely a little overwhelmed by all of my choices of frames & lens so I wanted all of them lol and Eli the assistant manger came to my rescue and helped explain and show me all of my Options..Well me bringing a GIRL;) I still wanted all of them but knew I shouldn't..Eli came to my rescue AGAIN..The grand total would have been $1,313.00 (eeeekkkkk) but she only charged me $424.00 (holly molly what a discount) That was my eye exam,2 pair of glasses both with progressive lens,scratch resistant,UV coating and Anit-reflection coating!!!!!!! Went to go get contacts after YEARS of not having them and just dealing with glasses. The whole staff was amazing. The nurse we dealt with in the first place was so sweet and cheerful. She even took the extra time to search for my husbands lenses, even tho he usually has to order them bc of his scrip. The exam took less time than I remembered (we're talking probably a minute?). First time here and it was a great experience. Dr. Schwartz was wonderful with me and my son. We were initially helped by Gabby and then Olivia took over after that. Olivia took her time to help me and my son pick out frames that we liked and helped us to stay within our budget. She was very caring and went above and beyond without being pushy or rushing us along. The store is very clean and bright and they have a good selection of frames to choose from. The ophthalmologist is not even in the building, she's some east Indian lady who knows where in the world and she's in a hurry to get your exam done and she sighs if you ask to see the previous screen even though it's because she's in a hurry. They ask you which looks clearer because DUH they're so similar, right? You give them all your contact information so they can contact you when your glasses are ready but then after you've driven all the way into town burning up your gasoline and stand around 20 minutes waiting for someone to figure out what's going on, your glasses are not actually there and they tell you they'll call you when they're ready, how many days later? Upon entering the store I was greeted by a young women who was eager to help. We looked up the information for my glasses and she advised me they were still under warranty (the Miami store did not). Its now been 2.5 weeks and i went online to track my order and see what's up. It's been sitting at the store! Wtf! Don't waste your time. The 2 pairs for $69 with a 'free' exam is a ruse. First you have to pay $45 for your exam up-front, then they will reduce it from your eyewear purchase. But there are only a dozen $69 pairs and any of the decent looking ones are above $100. That doesn't include your actual lenses, which are an additional $139! So your total will be above $250 for a 2/$69 deal. I wish they'd told me this when I called and asked about hidden cost. This is an unethical way to do business. By the way, after you take your exam, you only have until the end of the business day to get your $45 back. I suggest not even stepping in the door. Poor communication on multiple fronts. During my first visit, I loved it! The staff was quick, friendly, and helpful. This visit was rough. 3 different employees expressed skepticism over my choice to wear daily instead of monthly contacts. I had to explain 3 separate times that I chose dailies because I've never had a good experience with monthlies. During my exam, the doctor indicated that he was changing my prescription for both eyes but on my printed prescription sheet, the change was not reflected for my glasses, only the contacts. Believing there was a mistake, I turned around and went back to the store (which I did instead of calling because I couldn't get through to a non-automated answer on the phone). When I expressed my concerns about the disparity between what the doctor said and what was on my prescription, the staff dismissively explained my error (which I now understand), but was unreceptive to my feedback about how confusing it was to be told one thing and to see another. I decided to walk in to Stanton Optical and schedule an appointment for an eye exam and I scheduled the exam for the day of the grand opening. Everything was new and a little shaky but all the employees were nice and helpful. However, the optometrist was awful. To my understanding he is not the permanent optometrist for this location. I received a new prescription and the optometrist recommended different kind of contacts then what I've used previously for a long time. The contacts did not feel comfortable and I was told that I had to buy either a 6 month or 12 month. I used to be able to buy a box at a time and refused to buy a large supply especially since the contacts were new and I wanted to try them out before I bought a 6 month supply. I found out that the contacts they had me try on were not the ones stated in my prescription because they did not have them on site. However, they failed to tell me this. I ended up buying a 3 month supply since they offered me a deal and probably because they didn't want me to take my service elsewhere. The gentleman who helped me pick out a new pair of glasses was helpful. I expected things to be a little shaky since it was a grand opening but I would not recommend going there for an eye exam with that optometrist. After wearing my new glasses for a couple days I realized that the right lens was blurry. I ended up going back in for a reexamination to get my prescription changed in both my glasses and contacts. Paid for an eye exam and ordered some lenses right after. I had the lenses custom fit to a pair of frames I already own. I paid in cash. The lenses were supposed to come in in 2 weeks. A month later and no sign of them. I call the store 2 months later and they say the frames weren't good and had to be reordered. Here we are 4 months later with Stanton optical saying they have no record of me placing an order for lenses. They have record of my eye exam and buying other frames, but nothing for the $200 lenses I owned. When I called to resolve, I spoke to an outsourced telephone operator who had to call the store to access files. Ridiculous and unprofessional. Maybe if I can actually speak to a real store representative I'll get my lenses. This place doesn't keep records and I'm out $200 because they messed up a reorder. Pathetic read more

I called in to ask if they accepted my insurance and a man answered the phone and said the address to this location and said that this location I was attempting to go to accepted my insurance. He then insisted on forcing me to make an appointment over the phone so I did. On the day of the appointment I drove the 20 minutes to Stanton Optical and was told that they did not take my insurance and that I clearly called into a call center and was connected to a different store which is just not true. He then told me I could pay out of pocket for the exam if I still wanted to do it. It was completely unacceptable so I left. I highly recommend never going to this place. It's a scam and they just hope you'll be okay not using your vision insurance benefits that you pay for and paying them out of pocket. DO NOT GO HERE. read more
