Horrible experience. Contact lens exam a few weeks ago took forever because it was a virtual exam with a remote doctor. Then the said they were ordering me a trial pair of contacts, which still haven't arrived. Worse yet, they filed multiple claims included one for glasses (that i never even ordered through them) preventing me from ordering glasses with my new prescription through my insurance. I called today and spoke to rude and clueless employees (yes multiple). Apart from picking up my trial lenses, I will NEVER go here again. read more

The lab is fast. Nobody answers the phone, the voice recorded on the automated phone system doesn't have a friendly tone, and constantly urges you to visit their website. The website doesn't mention whether or not they have Retinal imaging (alternative to dilation), so I called another location who answers the phone (not much help). Without knowing I won't book an appointment online as suggested in the unhelpful tone on their phone system. Instead, I booked elsewhere. I've been attempting to pick up my prescription glasses for days. I was sent a message and email they were ready for pick up. got there no Dr. made sure Dr would be there the next day, all day, no closed times. I was told yes. arrived and was told the Dr left again. it's a 30 min drive one way for me. no communication. Hopefully Dr will be there tomorrow but no guarantee. maybe get more than one. will not return to this business. read more

I used to come here every year! Moved away and came back to do my annual eye exam. I scheduled online and when I got there I was told that I booked a virtual appointment and it would be an extra charge. Nowhere online stated that it was a virtual appointment. The doctor was on screen and I did not like this because that isn't what I booked. They gave me my prescription but the PD was incorrect. I gave an extra star because they do have a good selection. I didn't Chiapas anything on that visit because of the frustration but I do think I'll go back to get my prescription sunglasses. read more

The virtual appointment was not what I was expecting. When booking online, it was presented that I was booking with an actual Dr in the practice. Then I felt incredibly rushed picking out my glasses when the lady handed me only 2 pairs to try I was surprised and did not feel confident about it when she said the second pair was perfect. I said I would come back the next day since they were closing but was told I really needed to go ahead and complete my order if I didn't want to wait longer my glasses. I had an appointment on or around 9/23. The office staff was great although I didn't know I would have a virtual appointment. Multi focal Test contact lens were recommended and ordered for me to to try and I was given a pair of lens that weren't the right rx to wear right then because I didn't have any. So no rx was written for the contacts, just glasses. The contacts were supposed to be in on 10/13. I called on 10/13 and spoke with someone who I won't blast because she was nice and professional, but said I would be called when my contacts came in. Today is 10/23. Still no call. I've left several messages and no one has called me back. If the contacts aren't in, just say that. I've been a loyal customer of Dr. Patel in the Crawfordville, FlL location for almost 20 years. But for some reason they stopped taking appointments. The system recommended this place. This ain't cool at all people. I would just stop in to check my order but I live 2 hours away. Needless to say this is probably my last year using them all together. And yes, I'm probably being a Karen right now but guess what who cares, I can't see, I need my contact rx. people! I am so disappointed after my appointment after my recent appointment at the Lafayette location (tallahassee) I picked up my contacts which are a brand I've never heard of. I wasn't offered time to try mine out. The prescription is different from my CHP glasses with no explanation. Right eye -250, Left eye -150 (glasses both -250). Is this script just a mistake? I normally do not go online to do a "bad" review, but my experience the other day was nothing like my usual experience there. Raychel was absolutely fantastic, as was the Doctor, Ms. Graves, and the young man who was administering the eye test via the web cam. The gentleman who attended to me in person, however (did not catch his name) was literally falling asleep as he was doing the eye measurements for the glasses I had chosen, etc. As he was measuring the glasses with the ruler, he was quite literally nodding off with it in his hand, and while entering data into the computer. I'm not even entirely sure the prescription and measurements are correct, due to this. He was even sleeping as I was talking with the doctor via the web cam. I understand being tired, but this was very off-putting, made me uncomfortable, and I pray I will not see him during my next visit. Maybe it is due to a medical condition, I am not sure. But I sincerely hope it does not continue. With that said I will absolutely continue to come to this office, as I love it and the usual staff. This one person does NOT ruin the overall experience outside this one visit. I will just do my best to ensure I see another staff member next time. Had an appointment on the 4th of March. Ordered glasses and was told they would be ready by March 16. Called on March 23 to see if glasses were ready and was told they needed to order one of the lenses. Logged into my account and it looks like they just sent the glasses out on March 24. New scheduled date they will be ready....April 14. Unacceptable. My first and last time purchasing from here and will not EVER use this facility again. Used the fact I had City of Tallahassee insurance to their benefit. 650 for a contact lens exam. And whatever else they say they did. 155 out of pocket for the exam. I believe they used the fact that I am hard of hearing against me and my insurance. The guy doing the final billing tried really hard to get me to spend even more on contacts thru them even signed the optometrists name on a "rebate" form. I arrived at the Lafayette location for an appointment for my son where I was told at check in the appointment was a Virtual appt. This was shocking as when I booked on line it was not labeled as a virtual time slot. I would never book a virtual visit for my teen! To add insult to injury, I was then told the wait time would be close to 2 hours for this said Virtual appointment! I have been a loyal customer for many years at this location and the staff has always been amazing. Jayson, Eric and the desk staff were amazing at getting us booked for another time but they should never have been put in this situation to begin with! Anyone else in Tallahassee can care for you and your eyes better than this office can. The receptionist at my appointment was rude and anyone else that answers the phone behaves as if they'd rather be anywhere else than there to help you. You'll sit on hold for as long as you can tolerate before giving up. My doctor was nice but that's the only positive thing about this place. read more

They were patient while I picked frames--maybe a little expensive. They also send appointment reminders when it's been a while, which is nice. Plenty of parking. read more

I made an appointment for 4/29/22 at the beginning of March. A week before my appointment they sent text message for me to confirm my appointment. I accidentally replied no because I thought it was for another company. I immediately called and asked that they not cancel my appoint and explained what I had done. The lady(I forgot to get her name) said not to worry that she had confirmed it. I arrive today to find out I have no appoint and that it was cancelled. I have waited patiently over a month for this needed appointment to find out its cancelled. They offered a 4:30 appointment but I could not make this time today and knew I would have a another month wait so instead of voicing how I felt, I walked away and as I was walking away, the lady said well alright then sarcastically like all this was my fault. Great experience! This was my first time getting glasses and the doctor was patient with me and explained everything thoroughly. Unlike many doctor offices, the receptionist, Brenda, was so friendly. I had a mix up with my insurance and not being in the system, and she was understanding and made phone calls to get it figured out. Melissa helped me pick out my glasses, and she was so helpful since I have never worn glasses. She showed me different styles and pricing options, and she also shared her experience with me because we had a similar situation with our glasses type. Called to make my daughter an appointment and wanted to make sure the medicaid she was assigned to, they took and was told they do not take any form of Medicaid. With that said, my child has been seen there since she was 4 with medicaid. So, 4 years. This was my second time there. I was willing to give them another try after an awful first experience. I will not be returning nor will my family members. It seems they have fired all of the minority workers and have went to all Caucasian staff. Race has nothing to do with it but if your were wanting to change up things, I believe Customer Service skills should have been assigned. This is the go to place for eye care. Dr. Harman is the best there is. He's patient and easy to talk to, his explanations are easy to understand. It's so nice to have a doctor who takes care of you without making you feel rushed and that he really cares. Today so many doctors seem only interested in getting you in and out quickly so they can make more money. That's certainly not the case with Dr. Harman! read more

The office is clean, professional, friendly and well staffed. They usually have a two for one deal without coupon and they take insurance. This is the best place to get glasses because they are very concerned about your health of your eyes and will refer you to an ophthalmologist if needed. I've been a loyal customer of the Hour Glass for many years. Back in October 2015 I broke one of my temples and had to have both replaced. They (the Hour Glass) charged me $200. While it was expensive, the original frames were purchased over 10 years ago, and I still love the frames. This morning, one of the new temples snapped off. I went to MyEyeDr, and had an excellent customer service experience. They totally resolved my problem above and beyond my expectations. They have an excellent staff and are under new management. I was visiting my daughter in Tallahassee and took her to the Lafayette location for an eye exam and to get new glasses yesterday. Following her exam, Assistant General Manager Jayson helped us with selecting her new frames and a warranty replacement of the lenses of her old frames (which had been chewed by a dog.) Jayson could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable, informative, efficient, pleasant and patient with us. He made the process fun. As we were pulling away in our car, my daughter even changed her mind about her selection, which required us to go back inside and ask Jayson to rewrite her order for a different pair. I was feeling bad about having to ask him to do this, but he expressed absolutely no annoyance about it, and processed the change with his same great demeanor. He also called the lab at the Timberlane location and arranged for us to take her old frames there to have the replacement lenses put in the same day! Honestly, I was blown away by the level of service we received from Jayson and the rest of the staff at both locations. I have never experienced anything like it. I observed so many friendly employees asking if they can help, no waiting, the best frame selection I've seen in a store anywhere, and a level of efficiency that was extraordinary. I live in Melbourne, but I will be bringing my prescription back to get my glasses made at this store in the near future. Five stars is not enough! read more

A tale of two worlds. The back of the house was outstanding! The appointment receptionist was fast, friendly, and professional. The tech put me at ease and got me thru the preliminaries (I hate the eye puff thing). There was an intern that determined my prescription quickly and actually listened to my comments. The eye doctor was professional and explained what they tested for/ were looking for. So far 5 stars for sure. Then she escorted me out to the glasses area... Not a single star to be found here (in this visit, or the subsequent one). First I waited about 15 minutes for someone to help me. When someone finally shows up the listening stops and a barrage of questions designed to upsell every extra that could possibly come on glasses- and if more than one option he defaulted to the highest one. He then quoted me a price (with insurance!) of close to $600!! I told him that I paid about $350 for last pair with same plan- what was different? Turns out by asking me if I used a computer he was upselling me to an ungodly expensive super coating for anti glare. I stated that the last time I got an anti glare coating for $40 dollars. He changed it. I told him I needed photgray glasses that changed to sunglasses as they were going to be my only pair. Fast forward a week and a half. I get a text as promised to let me know they were in. (An hour after they closed for the evening). The next day after a bit of a snafu where they couldn't find them- they finally brought them out. They were prescription sunglasses, which I am sitting inside struggling to write this review with- the good news? Transition lens will be in to switch out in a week and a half read more

I bought four pairs of glasses at once for my family and shelled out $1000 in cash and my insurance paid plenty also. My glasses had a bad prescription and had to be remade. Took three weeks. My son's took about four and I was given three different dates for delivery and four reasons on different days why they were being delayed. I spoke to the manager who apologized but offered no accommodation for all the inconvenience and jerking around. To top to it all off they give you generic eyeglass cases I think to save on their costs if you buy designer framed you should get designer cases. They even do that at America's Best. When my daughter picked up her $800 sunglasses she was given a designer case that is literally too flat to hold anything more than the lens wipe.i don't think it's possible to hold any type of glasses. I will never return to this business. Not professional or worth the high end cost. I'll go back and forth to Jacksonville to get better quality and service. read more

I have always used MyEyeDr and until recently I would have rated them 5 stars. I recently purchased a pair of prescription Costa sunglasses through them. The person who was assisting me put the incorrect prescription in the order for the lenses so when they came back in I couldn't see out of them. They had to re-send them back to Costa unfortunately. I will say the staff that was helping me when I attempted to pick them up were very apologetic and the manager on staff comp-ed my remaining balance. I just received a text message that they were ready to be picked up so I called to verify that everything was going to be correct and that I wouldn't waste a trip to the other side of town. The women who I spoke with stated that my sunglasses were not in and someone incorrectly sent me that text message. Not only was it inconvenient for the delay in getting my sunglasses, this is the second time they have provided me with false hope.
