Caveat Emptor. Let the buyer beware…read more Two months ago I bought the same folder at the price displayed. $7.59. Today I returned for another. Same price underneath the product: $7.59. There are at least four price stickers along the row of identical folders. How much? Yup, you guessed it. So I go to check out; I was going to be charged $9.59. "Nope, I said. "It's $2.00 less. I supported my claim with a photo. The cashier, a nice person, called over a manager -- a real schmuck of a guy who initially was going to stick to $9.59. I argued the case to which he said to the cashier, "charge her $7.99." "It's $7.59," I said. (Principle is important to me.) "We're doing you a courtesy," the clown bellowed. $7.99 A decent manager would say, "we need to change the signage to the new price, but since we didn't we'll honor $7.59." But this guy has zero customer relation skills and should be sweeping floors rather than dealing with customers. Rather than one star, I'm giving Rainbow two because of their array of products. There's a store a block away, perhaps not as well stocked, but very similar. From now on, that will be our first stop. And if you're the owner reading this, train this weasel. Or better yet, demote him.

If you're looking for something and they've rearranged items, all you have to do is ask--they're always happy to help. The prices are reasonable. Sure, I know another place where I can get Krazy Glue as a two-pack for the same price, but I still choose to buy my glue, housewares, and other supplies from Gantry. There is a $5 minimum purchase at checkout, so keep that in mind. Many hardware stores have a minimum anyway, but it's always good to check ahead of time. The store is well organized, although sometimes there's so much to look at that you come in for one item and walk out with several others--haha. Overall, this is a great location for hardware supplies, small repairs, and even some plumbing projects (wink). Tap-to-pay is available, and of course, cash is accepted. 5,000 Miles for a Soap Pump? Worth It!…read more When our soap dispenser pump broke, my better half was ready to throw in the towel and order a whole new unit. But after a little research, she discovered a replacement part existed--and a supplier in New York City had 15 of them in stock. So, what did we do? We packed our bags and flew nearly 5,000 miles from Hawaii to the Big Apple to track it down! Straight after landing at JFK and dropping our bags at the hotel, we headed right over to the shop. The employee who helped us was incredibly friendly. When we told him what we needed, he disappeared into the back and emerged with the part. Since we were there, I suggested we get another one, just in case this one breaks or worse yet, it doesn't work. We were bummed because that was the last one they had (yup they sold 14 in two days). Just glad that we got one and that it worked. If these guys don't have the part you are looking for, I don't where else you would go, as they have literally thousands upon thousands of parts here. I went to Lexington Hardware; the guy told me he has the key which is "almost the same" but no identical. It was too big; it does not go in; i went back to Lexington hardware, the guy polished a little and gave me the money... the key went in tightly.... i think i need to find the same key! so, i searched online; i called Rainbow Locksmith at 338 E 65th street; the guy answered my phone is Joe, he said he has it. i went there.... he found a key but does not say the same things. But Joe told me this is the key!!! I paid big money over $10 with tax; i came back home, checked, it worked very nicely (although it may still be not identical). it is good enough!!!
