I am extremely disappointed with Stanley Steemer. I booked them to clean and deodorize an area rug that my kitten had begun peeing on, which was clearly explained in my online booking notes and again in person. At no point did anyone from their team say they couldn't handle the job. When I got home after the first cleaning, it was obvious the rug still smelled strongly of cat urine, like nothing had been done at all. They sent another technician the next day, who admitted after a closer look that they likely couldn't clean the rug properly in the first place. That means they had multiple chances to be upfront and professional: when I booked, when they came the first time, and before they charged me. Instead, they wasted my time and money. When I asked for a refund for the rug cleaning, management refused. The manager even had the technician confirm on speakerphone that the rug wasn't properly cleaned--and still denied a full refund. They only offered $40 out of the $140 bill, then rudely said "take it or leave it," and when my husband pushed back, the manager said "then I'll give you nothing" and hung up. This company is both incompetent and rude. They clearly don't care about customer service or honesty. Do not hire Stanley Steemer unless you want your rug left dirty and your time wasted. read more

Got an offer online for 692, when they got to my house they said 1200. Said their website was calculating incorrectly. I had put in all the info correctly. Apparently they knew and could have called instead they came and told me, I guess assuming I would tell them to proceed. No way. This is bad practice at best.... read more

DO NT HIRE THIS COMPANY TO CLEAN YOUR UPHOLSTERY. They came to my house to clean my couches, tile floors, and carpets. The service cost well over $300. When I got home from work I noticed 3 of the cushions on my couch had tears In the stitching. I had called the company and they offered to send a assistant manager to look at the damage. While there, the two men said the couch didn't look like that when they started- and that their high powered machines likely ripped up the stitching. One mentioned maybe my cat loosened them. They suggested I send them receipts of my couches and they will fix the damage. One week later I haven't heard from the company so I request a call from the franchise manager. He informed me the assistant manager told him the damage was from my cat and they aren't responsible. If you started cleaning a couch and damaged the first cushion, why would any one continue onto the rest ? And then leave with out saying anything to anyone? The manager of the branch was extremely rude, unapologetic, and frankly could not care less that I'm left with a damaged couch from his company. We will be disputing charges on our credit card and making it well known to never have anyone we know use this company- not just this franchise. read more

Rug cleaned at Stanley Steemers facility and returned. Not cleaned as expected (they claimed they did the best they could do). We were not satisfied and complained. Not satisfied with explanation! Also had A/C air ducts cleaned, which we were satisfied with. read more

I just had my couch and love seat professionally cleaned by the Stanley Steemer in Pleasantville. Two nice looking, clean-cut, polite guys showed up, and worked really hard cleaning my grungy furniture (I have 3 dogs that have free rein in my house). Furniture looks great!! Eric and Indy were the two guys who did the job (I specifically asked for their names so I could request them next time). I would highly recommend them! I've never had my furniture professionally cleaned before, and wasn't sure what to expect. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again when I need rugs or furniture cleaned. Excellent job!! Hired Stanley Steamer in Egg Harbor Twp, NJ to clean a couch in my basement. Employees arrived on Friday, 12/20/19 and asked for an outside water source. I directed them to an outside hose/spigot on the side on my home. The employees proceeded to complete the work and left. Six hours later i discovered the spigot on the side of my home was left on and water running out of it. The hose had been disconnected and left laying on the ground. My side yard was flooded and this caused water to come into my basement through a window. I contacted the EHT office and explained this to Eric and asked for a partial refund. I texted Eric (609-328-0427) pictures and video. Eric spoke with the employees then called me back. The employees and Eric deny they used my spigot and claim to have carried water in and out of the house. I reminded Eric that i have video, which i sent to him, of his employees and buckets of water were not carried in and out of my house--he then asked if i had video of his employees turning on the spigot. No, i do not because I don't have a camera pointed at the outside spigot. Eric denied they were at outside spigot. Then later he said they went over to the spigot but it was frozen and didn't use it, Eric told me I turned on the spigot. He went on to say he "deals with water claims all the time" and proceeded to tell me again I turned on the water and lectured me on freezing pipes. I advised Eric that I have video of his employees 1. Eric and the employee statements are LIES. I certainly did not unscrew my hose and turn on an outside water spigot in December in NJ. His employees turned on the spigot and left it on. Multiple witnesses were at my home that day (my daughter and other contractors) and video from my cameras. Do facts and common sense seriously lead you to the conclusion the homeowner randomly turned on an outdoor spigot in 20 degree NJ weather in December the SAME day Stanley Steamer employees come to your house and ask for an outside water source to clean your couch? 2. Eric's statement and behavior were belligerent, accusatory and insulting. The numerous "water claims" he's dealt with tells me several things: This business has a lot of claims and they are simply being denied because Eric's stance is his employees never make errors. read more

Our tenant contracted with Stanley Steemer of Pleasantville NJ to clean carpets as required at the end of her lease. Tenant advised Stanley Steemer removed 2nd floor window screen and removed curtain rod and valence so they could run their hose out the window. We arrived afterwards and screen had not been replaced nor was curtain rod rehung. Turns out curtain rod had been broken and could not be properly rehung. Stanley Steemer did send someone to put screen back in place. Asst Mgr/Lead Tech Eric failed to return my call from 8/31. I called again on 9/2, and he said he was "planning to call me". Planning and doing are two different things, Eric. He denies that he removed the items. I don't know if he can say the same about his helper, but he said my tenant is not telling the truth. I am using simple logic: 1. Tenant (single woman) never removed the screen and curtain rod previously. 2. Stanley Steemer needed access to run their hose through the window. 3. I recently had an issue with a brand new mattress that was soiled by a child that needed immediate attention. I called Stanley Steemer, from Pleasantville,NJ and they came within the hour. "Indy" worked on my mattress and did a wonderful job. He was able to get out most of the stain and was upset with himself that he couldn't make it 100% perfect. He spent so much time on it. I made an appointment over the phone (with the Pleasantville, NJ office) for cleaning of tile floor and hardwood. I was told to move lamps and knick knacks, which I did. When the cleaners arrive, I was told that they could not clean the hardwood since it was a finished wood, nothing was said about that over the phone. I was not very happy about that since I had spent the morning prepping the area. Furthermore, I was told the tile floor would come out much cleaner if I added the "color seal". Price jumped from $130 to over $500! No thanks. I had the tile floor steam cleaned for $130 and it came out ok. I should have been given this information over the phone. Very disappointed. read more
