I had Stanley Steemer clean my carpets. They did a very good job. I would give 5 stars but they no longer move furniture to clean under & behind. Last cleaning was done by a company that used chemicals, they did a much better job. Got stains left behind by previous company. They aren't cheep but job was well done. This is a mixed review, they did a good job cleaning the carpet, but their customer service was terrible. Lets start with phone contact, you will reach the national call center if you call the 800 # or the local #, they will relay messages but not connect you to anyone locally. In addition to the carpets, we had an 8 x 12 area rug cleaned. They took it to be cleaned saying 3-4 days or a week. 9 days later we called, said not completed yet. 16 days later we called and they said "yes it is ready, do we want it delivered". Come on guys, why do you think I am calling. They gave me a 5 hour window, about 3 1/2 hours later their truck stopped in front of our house, then 30 seconds later they left with no contact. 1 minute later get a text "sorry we missed you, call for a new appointment". We were home I was opening the front door as they were pulling away. They gave us a new 5 hour window, and showed up about 3 hours later. read more

I had Stanley Steemer come into my house and had my upstairs furniture cleaned, two rugs and two chairs. Two days later my virtual reality game was gone. I called the main company and one of their supervisors in West Columbia, SC 29170 and they were no help. Basically said do what you want on your end. I understand I really can't prove anything, but I do have a video of him coming inside with a rag and going out with a rag covering up something under his arm. I'm saying don't be naive like me and not watch the guy as they're cleaning, because your property may grow legs and walkout. Negative stars if I could. I called and specifically told the rep I needed help removing some pet stains on my living room rug. They told me they could get the stains out. The technician came to clean-- I showed him the 3 small stains he said no I can't get that out. Not his fault at all he was lovely and veery professional. Just veeryyy frustrated that I spoke to a rep they told me they could remove the stain yet the tech took one look and said nope not possible. Ridiculous. I will not be using Stanley Steemer again-- I can vacuum my own rug and that wasn't the service I was requesting. My sister used this company to clean the carpet in her home last week. 2 employees name Brandon were assigned to clean her carpet. My son lives with my sister and had jewelry was on his bed and when they left the jewelry was gone as well. My sister has tried to work with the owner and offered to pay for the guys to take a lie detector and she refused to even relay the information to the employees, if you didnt take it , then you shouldnt have a problem taking a test. Terrible and Rude from the receptionist to the fat guy who just stood there the entire time. Incredibly over priced! For the job they did, just buy your own steam cleaner. We needed our carpets cleaned because we were moving out of our small apartment. When I made the appointment I informed them that the movers were going to be loading up the moving truck and we had to be the last appointment of the day. Got a phone call confirmation, confirmed that we were to be last appointment of the day. Day of service, got a call asking if they could come early. I said no. Of course not! We still had guys coming in and out moving our furniture and boxes of stuff into the truck. She was rude, short, then essentially hung up on me. Two guys came. One was short, fat, sweaty, and disgusting. The other guy kinda got to work. The short fat guy sat there and proceeded to share all of his political opinions, how he makes $25 an hour, and he is getting his Associates degree to become a Medical Doctor. Oh yeah, and he had swine flu the day before and came into our home contagious. I am 36 weeks pregnant, and he just exposed me and my son to a potentially dangerous illness. The job cost $154. They did not get any of the stains off the carpet. Ridiculous. Don't waste your time or money. read more

We have used Stanely Steemer now for about 2 years and they have done an excellent job cleaning the carpets and cleaning the grout in my kitchen. Each employee that has come out has been wonderful. We have a contract with them and they have called and set up each visit at our convenience. I could never get my grout cleaned like I would like it to be and I went home and saw clean grout!! We called for the three room special $99. The techs arrived and cleaned carpet around furniture. Solicited to clean tile and grout in kitchen, their process blew out the grout and damaged our floor. When we contacted the business owner she was rude, She claimed we had faulty grout and would not agree to pay for the damage that they caused. Filing a complaint with BBB first. If no resolution, we are going to small claims court. Do not hire these people if you have any concerns about their careless attitude about the care of your property. They will not accept liability for damages that they cause to your property. Call a reputable local contractor and inquire about their complaint resolution. read more

I would've even give this company one star. Worst service ever. We had a apoitment scheduled for 1/16/16 between 10am-1:00pm. 1:30 comes around and I call to see when they will be here and the lady on the phone said that it says they've already been to my house. WRONG. They have not. They end up sending someone, and they got to my house by 3pm. The man who came to clean our carpet, DID NOT clean all of our carpet. He DID NOT clean the whole living room carpet, left under the sofa not cleaned. Who does that?! And to be charged $85 for them to be late and not do their job?! Horrible!!I Had to go out and buy a steam cleaner at Walmart just to get the spots and odor out after they were done.Wish I knew before I had them come out.. I even paid extra for them to deodorize! What a rip off! Even told me over the phone they would move the dresser and bed but once they got here they didnt want to move anything! I told them I would do it then and thats when they changed their minds. They just wanted to work around any furniture so it would be faster. Thats just plain lazy and bad customer service. Please use another company. The technicians came out and I asked them to do part of my office since the bedroom was so small to compensate for an extra room charge and the guy said okay. I leave to go to the store and my husband pays and he charged me for a whole other room. My carpet was horribly soaking wet and the stains are surfacing already after a couple of weeks. I think all they did was come in a squirt water on my carpet and did not suck it all back up. I will never ever use them again. read more

My elderly parents have used the carpet cleaning services multiple times and they do a great job, BUT, forget about duct cleaning. The people who came out did a horrible clean-up job. My parents are in their 90's and use walkers. The crew left vent covers off in a bathroom creating a trip/fall condition for my Mother that could have ended with a serious injury. My 93 year old father had to chase after them as they were leaving to clean up all of the crap they pulled out of the dryer vent, and they left ceiling fans on and a/c off in the upstairs room. They also damaged the walls going upstairs with their hose. I don't think we will use them again for anything! read more
