There really is more to Blackpool than the pleasure beach you know!!! Even when I was a kid visiting the beach in the summer I always wondered what it would look like in November, what's more I always wondered what the rest of town was like. Well as of recently I have been discovering this seaside town. I am here to report that its beautiful. In fact joggin through Stanley park into suburbia, the spacious environment could fool you into thinking you were in America. There is just so much space!!!! The park itself is gorgeous and very well maintained. The lake is just a picture of serenity, perfect for jogging alongside, and there is a nice confectionary shop where you can buy ice cream and snacks all year round. I have no idea what the opening hours for the shop are, but judging from my punctual jogging sessions in the morning, it seems whenever the owner sees fit. Which in its own way once you accept it is kinda cool I reckon. read more

Stanley Park is a fantastic place for a day out , childrens playground , tennis , boating lake ,crazy golf , pitch and putt , wooded areas , open grass areas (ideal for dogs) rose gardens , band stand (live music at weekends in the summer) athletics track and lots more .. vted best in the north west recently . read more

A very handy cafe if you are visiting Stanley Park but in my opinion a tad expensive, if you are going to spend the day at Stanley Park I would certainly suggest packing a picnic as there are some wonderful picnic areas with stunning views and would be the fraction of the cost. Also I am a traditionalist so park visits should always be accompanied with picnics. read more

The cafe is nicely set out, you can eat in or outside. There are two boards on the wall with the price of the meals when it first opened (30's i think), and the prices now. A big difference. I think it is too expensive really and would rather take my own picnic. As for the park it's a lovely place to take the kids, lots to see and do. Well kept, clean and tidy. Great pond area, loads of ducks - take plenty of bread with you. Although you can buy it from there if the shop is open -depends on time of year. read more

I was invited here last week for a catch up with some friends, the last time I was here was several years ago when they charged me over £10 for three cups of tea and a cake !!! we sat outside in the sunshine, as we was talking a waiter came to the table and said "order Inside" I made my way to the counter and picked up a drink and moved towards the till, as I ordered my food one of my friends asked what I was having, I replied I'm having the ham salad, the lady on the till said if you have quite finished talking you can pay !!! How very rude !!! I will not be going there ever again !!! read more

Very impressed by this cafe, art deco interior, great band on during our Sunday lunch visit, and a decent menu too. Licenced bar as well. My only complaint the baked potatoes that we ordered weren't very hot (we decided not to complain). Worth a visit if you are taking a stroll through Stanley Park one day. read more

A beautiful Park set in the middle of Blackpool, the biggest one in the town. There is a big lake with boats on to row about in, theres a woodland walk, a beautiful (but incredibly expensive) art deco cafe, hungry and all but tame squirrels, ducks and pigeons. Theres a nice playground for the kids, a trim track to jog around, a field for some footy, and some astroturf courts and an athletics track too. Rose Gardens, herb gardens, walled gardens and more, the perfect place for a picnice or just a nice evening ramble. read more

This cafe is stunning, and seems like a wonderful place to eat. However, the service is appalling, the food way overpriced and not of great quality and I certainly will not be going back. Took a long time for the food to arrive, not good when with hungry children. read more

This cafe has changed hands since the last reviews. A lot has changed since then, the Sunday lunch jazz events have gone along with the ice cream 'parlour' and unfortunately a lot of the atmosphere. In its place we now have a drab boring and frankly grey (the lights are rarely on inside giving the place a 'cold' feel) atmosphere that fails to take advantage of the fantastic art deco surroundings. Staff are polite & pleasent enough and are well 'turned out'. The food is reasonably priced for the quality received. The only real complaint I have is with the coffee - granted everyone has their own tastes but weak filter coffee made 50/50 with milk leaves nothing but a 'hint' of coffee flavour in the milk and for £1.85 I want to taste it! and the latte at £2.25 is down right terrible (it tastes and looks just like the filter coffee) but costs 40p more! Do us a favour 'Parks' sort your coffee out! read more

I am a regular visitor to Parks' in the park. I cannot disagree with the last reviewer more. The atmoshere is warm and welcoming. Every Sunday still see's live music but there is now a greater variety of acts including jazz but not exclusively so. The food is as good as it is ever was, but what is fantastic now is the welcome smile and convivial hosts When the new folks took over the service was hit and miss but always friendly However any problems they encountered have been ironed out and there is now efficient and friendly service. My coffee this morning hit the spot! read more
