Jon and the entire Stang Plumbing team were absolute rockstars. They were responsive, prompt, professional, absolute experts and excellent customer service. Their prices were fair, and they went exceedingly above and beyond to coach us through the issues, as well as recommending additional companies for the follow on steps required. We are military assigned overseas and they were extremely accommodating with the time differences and availability. Our tenants stated they have worked with a lot of plumbers over the years and Jon and his team were far beyond from anything they had previously experienced. We will be lifetime customers. read more

Beware of Stang Plumbing they appear nice and super helpful until the bill is written. I was charged $7500 for a $1600 tankless water heater. When I asked for a breakdown of the charges I was told, installs are not itemized; there's no time for that. Not even labor was listed for this 7 hour job! When I asked how he (the owner, Jon) arrived at $7500 when they are much cheaper. The owner replied, it's a markup, I gotta get paid somehow!! There was no serial number or model number. I had to request that info from him the next day. There is a warranty on my new water heater but I dont have those documents either! I've been swindled by the best!! Beware! One of the nicest scammers you'll ever meet. read more

Louis Bingham was super! We've used Stang Plumbing in the past & we won't use anyone else! Very very reasonably priced. Excellent workmanship. Give them business, Yelpers, you will be more than satisfied with them. read more

We've had Stang out a few times over the years and I just realized I hadn't reviewed before. Most recently, they installed a new garbage disposal for me. They showed up right on time and finished super fast. We've also had them out the day after Thanksgiving for a clog repair (pro tip, potato peels are not your stack's friend), a water heater issue, and another time for a toilet repair. Always professional, friendly, and quality work. read more

Had a leak from our 2nd floor toilet down into our first floor wall. They identified the issue quickly, discussed options, and fixed it. Then made recommendations for the future. I was very satisfied with the work. read more

My mom has been using Stang Plumbing for major jobs for decades, and they've always been super high quality. Their truck says, "Quality doesn't cost, it pays," and this is so true! They recently installed a new hot water heater (which they purchased and is way better quality than anything we could get ourselves), washer, dryer, and removed an old sink. Perfect--and wish I'd known to have them install my washing machine correctly. The plumber here even gave helpful tips to my mom to save future work. Thank you! :) read more

They installed a new water heater for us on Thursday. Zack arrived right on time. He was very friendly and professional. He removed the old water heater quickly and installed the new water heater in no time at all. He used copper pipes for all his work and his work was very neat and tidy. He cleaned up the entire area when the work was completed. I highly recommend Stang Plumbing. read more

Very quick and responsive plumbers. Our water heater started to leak and before our first appointment, they sent out a gentleman to shut it off and drain it so we weren't worried. Jason did an excellent job with the replacement - done in an hour and a half!!! Kind and clean workers! read more

The Stang plumber who helped us today was thorough, informative, transparent, and efficient. Pricing was reasonable as well! We would recommend him and Stang Plumbing & Heating to any of our friends/neighbors! read more

Stang Plumbing certainly act like they don't want to have repeat customers. They have very poor customer relations. They routinely charge to come to evaluate the problem, and they said that this would be subtracted from the total charge for the repair. In my case, they did not subtract it from the total bill, and when I questioned it, they refused to honor their commitment. Although the manager took my first call and said he would get back to me, he never called me back and then he failed to return several phone calls. It is also worth noting that they are on the expensive side - the hourly rate is more than 60% higher than other plumbers in the area, and they add an hourly charge for the helper who accompanies the plumber as well. read more

Just wanted to express how fantastic this company is to talk to! I just spoke to the owner for almost ten minutes as he walked me through an issue I was having with my hot water heater. At no benefit to him he helped me fix a problem I was about to pay $200 for! I will run back to this company next time I have an issue. read more

Visit one: wet floor under sewer pipe, drippy faucet, gurgle sound from all sinks. Diagnosis: melted snow and a fixed worn part in an inexpensive, older faucet. Cost:$300+ Pricey, but then, right after... Visit 2: wet basement from backed-up sewer line, which turned out to be the real source of the original wetness, go figure, not snow. At first attributed to incorrect former pipe installation but then realized it was further down the cast iron pipe; snaked and found roots. $1200+. I was asked, but turned down, camera. Visit 3: When raw sewage poured into the basement the same late afternoon, I called and was told to shut off the water, which I did, although the waste was flowing through the end of the sewer pipe which had not been capped off. Came by in the evening til 9:30 with a different plumber who effectively removed much more root system clogging the drain (also used video, which I have with Stang's name on it). About $1,100+ more. When I called and asked why it took so many visits, I was sent the video and told to claim it to WSSC next time it occurred, which I felt was dismissive. My reviews are fair for reasonable efforts. I don't have that many of them. Some are exemplary, and the reasons why are stated. Neighbors have been discouraged by repeat visits from this company to cure a problem that should have been fixed at the first, so it seems like a pattern. Attacking the character of a customer must be easier than having a reputation you can stand by. read more

When it comes to contractors the most important thing is trusting who are working with. Stang has done several projects at my home and I absolutely trust their work and their fair prices. The office stafff is friendly, the scheduling is reasonable and they don't try to jack up rates like many other companies. 5 stars for trust and 5 stars for service. read more

Stang was an excellent company to work with and I highly recommend them. I will be using them again for the (inevitable) future plumbing needs in our old house. Firstly, John the owner was extremely knowledgeable and spent time going through the potential scope and solution to address the deteriorating water service and sewer pipes in our house. This work was a considerable investment (it took a sizeable team multiple days) and John made me very comfortable with what we were about to undertake. The team was punctual, very courteous, and focused on the job. Jason, the team member leading the sewer scope was a pleasure to work with. John and Jason were very communicative through the process and made extra effort to ensure that their activities bothered the neighbors as little as was reasonably possible. I found John and team straightforward and honest which made me comfortable with the work. They absolutely perform to the contract (appropriately so), and I recommend taking the time during the scoping/quote period to ensure that everything you want done is listed: Stang was happy to work through my questions and requested adjustments until the contract was what we all wanted. They offer a good warranty on their work: When the job was complete we noticed a slight seep from a fixture several days after everything was done. John came out right away; as I described what we were seeing while walking him in the front door he diagnosed that the team hadn't quite tightened up one small part completely and that this would be under the warranty at no cost (He even upgraded an internal part in the fixture while fixing it, which was quite generous of him). They know their business well, they are communicative, they do excellent work, and I have high trust in the work they do. read more

They have lost a repeat customer. We enjoyed their professional service and quick reaction times. I don't even mind paying for a $14 part to be installed for $400 - we had valued the ability to fix it right and be able to address an issue so that I didn't need multiple trips to the hardware store. BUT, when the latest repair failed less than 48 hours later, I called and learned the following: No guarantees - period. You're taking your business elsewhere, fine. You're going to give Stang Plumbing a poor review, ok. I'm bothered by any professional service that has no reasonable expectation that the work they provide actually solves the issue. When working with Stang Plumbing, exercise your right to test the fix to your satisfaction. When they leave and you've signed off, they won't be back for free. read more

I used Stang Plumbers for years, both at home and at my office. ...under the old ownership. They always did everything right the first time, and the cost was reasonable. ...however,... There's now a new owner. I called them to change an undersink heater, and it turned into a nightmare---partially my fault, because I bought a 110 volt replacement heater, but the electric line was 220. Why the plumber didn't see it right away I can't say--I would have thought he had a trained eye. When they did finally identify the problem (a few hundred dollars later) I called the Stang office and asked them how much a 220 Volt heater would cost, installed. The fellow I spoke to (I thought it was the new owner) said he would check it out and call me back. That was several months ago, and I'm still waiting for the call. Obviously, I called a different plumber who did everything right the first visit, and by the way, charged a lot less per hour than Stang. IT SEEMS THAT STANG JUST WANTED TO TAKE MY MONEY AND RUN, rather than solve my problem, even though I was willing to pay yet more, and never challenged them about why they didn't see right away that the first heater was an electrical mismatch. I will never call them again, and please, everyone, be forewarned. read more

Unfortunately had several issues with this company and would not recommend them. Aside from having a high hourly rate compared to others in the area, much of the work was done improperly. They had to return several times to fix their work. And during a minor repair job, they caused larger damage that we then had to pay them fix! If you have to use them, make sure you get a written estimate before they begin the work and understand their warranty policy. But I would highly recommend using someone else, as there are plenty of other better choices in the area. read more

It was so nice - I invited them twice. As professional and pleasant an experience as I could imagine. Recommended. read more

No one expects a plumber to be cheap, but you do expect some reasonable correlation to work. I bought a water heater last year and had it installed through Stang. This year, pieces of plastic were showing up in my faucet. I called them to see if they hadn't adequately flushed the pipes or perhaps I was having a problem with this water heater. The plumber showed up 20 minutes late, and based on what I told him he said he could flush the system but that in all likelihood those were the last pieces from the old water heater. He did not so much as use a tool, and was done in less than 30 minutes. Yet I still got the $164 full hour bill. I would understand maybe if I hadn't bought the water heater from them, or if they had to do even the least little bit of work for this opinion, but the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be calling them again. read more

We bought a gas range for Sears. We were switching from electric to gas so we also needed to have the gas line extended to the kitchen. We paid for Sears installation company give an estimate on the gas line. I guy came out, took a couple of pictures, then three days later someone called and named a price. Sears took forever to get our oven, so it gave us time to think that maybe we should get another estimate. My realtor recommended Stang. They came out for free. Their man spent a lot of time with me explaining the process and gave me some options with regard to costs. They gave us a 3-page detailed estimate that came out to about $500 less than the Sears company. They came out on time, arranged all inspections, and did great work. read more

Almost $200 an hour. That is not acceptable. We paid for the work and will never use them again.

I wish everything in m life was a reliable as Stang. Our house was built in the 1960's, and it has needed a lot of work over the last 27 years that we have owned it. When you take time off from work to be there for a repair, you want it fixed right the first time, and Stang never let us down. Recently I needed an old toilet replaced in a hurry, and they had a new one installed within a few days. Everyone they have sent to my house has been polite and helpful. I highly recommend them. read more

Jay came out to give me an estimate but it took a week to get that estimate. Also each time I called and was told they would call me back, they didn't. This went on for a couple of weeks. I was given conflicting information from different people. Finally the last time they said they would call me back, they actually did. I said that their behavior sent a message to me that they don't want my business so I was not interested in doing business with a company that treats potential customers in such an unprofessional and disrespectful manner. read more
