History

Established in 2013.

Standout Arts was founded in 2013 by Shannon Sankar who had previously co-owned a marketing company for nearly 10 years. Just before that, Shannon worked as the Creative Director for a multi-station radio group in Harrisonburg, Virginia. An Art Major with a flare for marketing and copywriting, Shannon has always been interested in graphic design, web design and development, and marketing that helps to build brands and tell stories. In 2014, Standout Arts hired Kim Emerson, a former Assistant Manager for a Photography Studio. Kim is a talented artist and photographer. In 2018, Standout Arts grew to include a team that's made up of graphic designers, web developers, copywriters, digital marketing specialists and client and community advocates. Today, Standout Arts continues to be a relatively small but laser-focused team of professionals who truly care about their work. Our clients are truly like family and we appreciate each and every project with which we're a part.
