I have alot to say about this autobody shop,
bottom line was I was not happy with the service here.
Was crossing through Banff when my brake pad locked up, so I called to get my car towed.
The tow truck driver for standish either did not speak english or just would not communicate with me, I told him my tire was loose as I had been trying to investigate the problem, but the nuts were ceased due to the heat and in result were stripped and the tire was just hanging on.
He didn't respond to this information, did not check the tire or look at it to check if it was secure. He loaded my car up onto the bed of the truck as I watched just hoping my tire would not come off in the process. At one point I stopped him because The tire looked like it was leaning outward and he just shrugged.
when I left my car there, I told the man at the front all about the loose tire and to CHECK IT before taking it for a test drive because i knew the state of the tire.
The next 2 days the place barely communicated with me, I had to call to ask at the end of the day what was going on with my car as no one would call to give updates.
On the day of pickupthe guy at the front "Wow! Did you know your tire was really loose?"
So frustrating.... Yes I did know, I warned them about it when i brought my car in... to the same guy. Nobody listens there apparently.
They fixed my car, replaced my caliper and nuts/bolts since they were stripped.
The bill was over 900$
Upon arriving in Kelowna (less than a week later), I had to get my car safetied as I was applying for BC auto insurance.
The caliper that they installed was leaking. Apparently not at fault of them, at fault of the part store (NAPPA).
NAPPA paid for the cost of a new part for me, But did not cover the cost of the labour, to install both the fist faulty caliper, then the second replacement caliper.
The bill for these two installations was easily over 150-200$
As well as the wait time to get the original part, as well as the wait time for the replacement part...
2 extra nights in a hotel in banff waiting for parts, a rental car for a day, and then over a week to get the replacement part in Kelowna, because it was only covered if it came through NAPPA.
The guys at the Shop in Kelowna were excellent to me and were shocked at what I went through with Standish, from the cost of the original part (which was 100$+ more than the average caliper) as well as NAPPA or Standish not being willing to cover one of the installation costs of the faulty or replacement part.
