My wonderful husband got me here.
    Kathryn B.

For Eagles fans, this is a Must-do. My husband and I drove the 57 miles from Flagstaff, where we were staying for a few nights, to Winslow specifically so that we could stand on this corner. Then we drove the 57 miles back and were very glad we did. We both wish we'd taken the time to go into the souvenir shop on the corner and buy t-shirts. We got so wrapped up in photos, we just didn't think about shopping, too. Great corner, great fun. You won't be here long. But then do a little shopping and stop in at one of the local places for lunch or dinner. We went into BoJo's for cold refreshments. Service was stellar, the drinks were icy cold and inexpensive.

Stopped here on our way to Oklahoma City - we were here at 6:30am and it was the perfect time to snap a quick photo! Turn up your radio, listen to the famous Eagles song and check out the corner in Winslow, Arizona. This is a fun stop that only took us about 10 minutes. There is a sign that says "Standin on the Corner" there is a flatbed Ford and a huge Route 66 symbol in the road. Take it Easy!

If you are a classic rock fan, then if you are in the area, stop by and "Stand on the Corner". The flat bed Ford is there, but you will need to provide the girl. Neat place to stop for a few pictures, souvenir shop, and have a bite to eat, on the long drive along US highway 40.

"Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona." The Eagles Not to be mistaken with a myth, this legendary place really does exist! Photographic evidence felt required just in case "...we will never be here again." And that's...Henry's Take. #takeiteasy #winslowarizona #mythsversuslegends

"Standin' on the corner in Winslow Arizona". Yes, we drove to Winslow to stand on the corner and pay tribute to the Eagles. There is a statute of Glen Frey, a flatbed Ford, and a mural painted on the wall. There are plenty of gift shops with Eagles memorabilia and Winslow souvenirs. There are also plenty of good places to eat. It was a beautiful day to spend in Winslow and stand on the corner!

They have really made this an excellent tourist attraction. There is a mural that says Winslow, AZ as well as two statues. There is even a sign that says Standing On A Corner. This is very cheesy, but very much worth stopping in at for a photo op!

Yup, it's why you come here. This iconic statue is a tribute to the Eagles' famous song "Take it Easy." It probably is the most photographed thing in Winslow. Though he never actually stood on the corner here, the town took the idea and ran with it. There is actually a vintage flatbed Ford parked out front. One more thing off my bucket list.

Most people like the Eagles and their music. We do as well and can sing many of their songs from memory, at least parts of them. We heard of this place before and knew we had to stop if ever in the area. This was our opportunity as we were driving I-40 across the country. This is also part of the historic Route 66. The park includes a real flatbed ford parked on the street with two statues, one standing and another holding a guitar. There is also a huge Route 66 sign painted in the street intersection. It is a great opportunity for photos and you should also check out the gift shop located on the corner as well. We sang parts of "Take it easy" the rest of the day as we drove to Albuquerque.

Fun little stop on Arizona Route 66 in Winslow. If you are a fan of the Eagles, you'll want to take some pictures and check out the gift shops nearby. They even have a flat bed Ford and play music across the street. Worth a detour if you are in the area! We made the trip from Flagstaff and it was about an hour drive.

This was a fun stop. We love the Eagles. We love the song! We have never been on route 66 before, and this was a must see.

Always been a must visit for me. I'm a big ol Eagles fan from their beginning. Cute little town and love the way they painted the buildings behind park and the statues. Town is very Eagles intense . Gift shops carry a lot of their merchandise.

Well I'm a standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona, leaning on some statue...

This small touristy Route 66 piece is as good as it gets. I'm sure everyone has heard the Eagles' song "Take it Easy" where the lyrics famously mention Winslow. People can debate all day long how accurate and true the lyrics are (the song was written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey), but nonetheless, the town is very happy to capitalize on it. If you're traveling the Mother Road westbound, you're better off turning left west of town because this is seen from the eastbound direction (Route 66 splits in half in Winslow). You'll probably find some people taking photos or whatever but you'll eventually get your chance. The statue which has been there since 1999, is not of Jackson Browne but the average 1970s rocker. Glenn Frey's was added several months after his death in 2016. The flatbed Ford is also displayed there. What's interesting is "Take it Easy" was not only the song that helped get the Eagles onto stardom, it is also the song that helped launch their mid-90s comeback when Travis Tritt did a video for the song, reuniting all Eagles. A couple tips: be sure to pay attention to the detail in the mural in the background. You'll see an eagle, among other things. And don't forget to stop at the gift shop across the street where you'll find many things that say "Take it Easy".

    This is the actual park.

I don't know why so many Yelpers refer to this business as a "scam." The name of the business is METEOR CRATER and that is what you get to see. What exactly were you expecting? Make sure you take the free tour. If you don't take the tour, I just don't know what to say. Inside the main building, there is a decent area with exhibits you can peruse and check out the history of other meteors that hit the earth. Some of the other meteors left craters far, far bigger than this one. Our tour was about an hour long or so--I cannot remember how long exactly--but you get to walk along the rim and hear interesting stories about all the mining efforts inside the crater and the loonies who have fallen in and so on. Even a plane crashed inside this thing. Again, make sure you take the tour. We didn't have time to watch the free movie, although I wish I had done so. There is also a separate area of young kids. There are several free looking devices (you know, those stationary binocular type things) outside the main structure where you can look into the crater. Those are fun to use. Yes, this is expensive but this is also a roadside attraction that is worth the detour. Plan on spending about two hours here. They also have a little cafe with food and booze (including espresso martinis, for goodness sake), if you really want or need to get liquored up in the middle of nowhere, I guess.

It's exactly what it sounds like, a massive crater, and there are some interesting exhibits and information that make it a neat, educational stop (especially for kids). The staff was also very friendly, and the clerk at the front desk was especially welcoming, which we appreciated. That said, if I'm being completely honest, the price point was hard to justify. At $29 per person, it felt very steep for the overall experience. For what's offered, something in the $12-$15 range would feel much more reasonable. I'm glad we saw it, for us it was one of those "check it off the list" places, but not something I would personally return to or go out of my way to recommend at the current price.

A good friend of mine lost her father that dreadful day back in 2001 and all the emotion is still there, especially after talking to my friend on this 20 year anniversary! When Winslow received the beams back in 2002, at the original location on the corner of Route 66 and Transcon Lane, I was there! I was amazed that Winslow received two of the beams from the World Trade Center and why did Winslow receive them? Because they asked! With teamwork from the City of Winslow and the Walmart Distribution Center in Buckeye, the steel girders were delivered within hours of the first anniversary ceremony of this tragedy! Since then, they have been moved to this park location on Route 66, the Mother Road, which is much better and safer for viewing. When we have out of town visitors, this is a definite must see! When I visit the beams, my eyes swell up and when you touch them, you can truly feel the energy these beams carry! The flag at the Memorial was flying over the Pentagon that day and this is stated on the Remembrance Garden plaque. The plaque also states "the words 'United We Stand' remind the world that we will not fear terrorism. We hereby dedicate this garden to Northern Arizona's promise that 'WE WILL NEVER FORGET'."! This Memorial not only shows that our unrelenting heroism and self-sacrifice has never wavered but it is a perfect symbol to show that terrorism, of any kind will not be tolerated, that democracy will prevail and that indeed, WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
