This review is directed to the owners of this business, and does NOT reflect on the services…read morereceived over the years by this customer. The business was shut down in mid-July to replace the existing kiosk and shed with a single building. It was supposed to occur in June, but apparently the required building permits were not procured. From the start, the project has been poorly managed. Usually when a business does a makeover such as this, there is some form of communication to customers regarding the plan. For example, signage is placed to inform customers of the upcoming changes, and the plan for returning to normal business. No such communication occurred, other than perhaps the barista informing customers verbally. This does nothing to inform transient customers, who are not even aware that the kiosk exists. And loyal, long-term customers such as my wife and I are left in the lurch, not knowing if or when the kiosk will ever return to business. As of August 21, we are still unsure whether the kiosk will be open any time soon. In the meantime, we are left with hoping the food court coffee trailer is open when we are looking for coffee (forget Dunkin'). There are no signs in the window, just building permits in various stages of incompletion. It's been very disappointing, as my wife and I have been frequenting this coffee kiosk for more than 10 years (back when Nancy and Karl Colbrunn owned it). In the business world, a Project Manager can make all the difference. This project could easily have been done in less than two weeks, which would have reduced the adverse impact to customers and employees. Perhaps the owners could do some damage control and (at least) put up some kind of information in the windows of the new building letting customers know what is going on. Also, consider placing some kind of signage along the street to let folks know there is actually a coffee kiosk in the parking lot (not just some random building sitting there).

This should not even be on the menu ! It was $8 and a soupy, gloppy mess. It was inedible. I took it back to the counter and the employee couldn't care less. Never offered a refund or another option. Total silence and shrugged. Then I Had the pumpkin bread which was pretty good! As mentioned, this is more of a bakery. Across the street is a nice restaurant if you'd like a substantial meal! There were some nice gift items on the shelves, so that's a plus. The place was rather plain, but clean. I wouldn't come back here... the ambivalence of the staff turned me off.

Overall great experience and I cannot wait to revisit.

I ordered the smoked salmon on a bagel and tip them 33% (happy to have someone else make my lunch) They asked what I wanted on it. And then brought a plate with everything spread out on the plate. I had to spread the cream cheese, place the capers, the lettuce, the tomato's, the salmon.., I had to make my own freaking sandwich!!! I got my hands messy in the process then had to go wash my hands before eating the sandwich that "I" made. The sandwich was very good. I just ask that you make it for me. Please!! People go out so that they don't have to fix their own!!! Please take this to heart and make a change Thank you

Introduction:…read more Finishing up the last 2 of the prior to 2018 to 2024 runner-ups to non-DMV picks in alphabet series. First of two 2024 runner-ups, B is for Bethel Brews. Although this is technically not in the DC-Baltimore area as it's geographically closer to Richmond & Charlottesville areas, I'm counting it for these reasons: 1. It was a good runner-up for the letter B, which my original pick was truly out of town by Smith Mountain Lake, also in Virginia, but way southwest. 2. This place was great, so I wanted to get around to reviewing 3. I had Louisa County, VA work travel twice in March & April 2024 and was rolled into the BAWA (Baltimore-Washington area) work market, perhaps because the Virginia market, which includes Richmond & many areas to the south & west is such a vast land area with many counties, they barely rolled Louisa into BAWA market. Experience here: Staff greeted me and was friendly. On Monday, March 4, 2024, I got a wrap & fries. It really hit the spot. Excellent wrap & fries at a reasonable price. I think I got one of their coffees that day, but definitely did in April as I have photo of the drink. On Monday, April 15, 2024, I remembered it was a great lunch option that I decided when in Rome to go back, got a fruity chicken salad, which was also solid. I was tired from all the driving and got some latte I think; it was delicious. I haven't been back to Louisa County since April 2024 work travel, but if I ever am, I'd try to return.
