DO NOT BUY FROM STAKER HATS. See other reviews.....I ordered over a year ago and still have not received my hat. I understand that the website says "no refunds," but if you don't deliver the product ordered, or can't, the moral and right thing to do is refund. Last time I received communication, they said they were waiting on hat bodies. I have visited several hat places in Texas, and they don't seem to have that problem. Now they won't respond at all. Took 14 months from purchase to delivery and only because I incessantly communicated with him. When I finally suggested I have been scammed is when I received my purchase. The hat was not worth the wait. Take your business elsewhere unless you appreciate an endless supply of excuses. read more

I really enjoyed dealing with Mr. Staker. I described what I wanted and he knew immediately what I was talking about. I wanted a Tom Horn replica hat and even tho he didn't have it listed, I sent him a photo from the Wyoming museum and he added that style to his website. I currently have an order in with him for the Tom Horn MOVIE replica that Steve McQueen wore and as soon as he gets the blank in (5" brim and larger which are out of stock at most stores) he'll be working on my new one. He is more reasonable in price than other custom hat makers so I consider him a good value. Be prepared to WAIT for your hat, he's 8 months to a year backlogged. read more

Ordered Nov. 18, 2024, As a Christmas Gift (no arrival), ok maybe birthday in January 2025. No arrival, No email reply's numerous times, Voicemail is always full. I had three different people call and same thing (voicemail full). Money for hat was taken right away but no updates. Lousy business model or Great Scam. definitely not an "Honest Cowboy". I like that Yelp asks me to describe what this company can do to improve. For starters they can send me the merchandise I ordered more than six months ago! They can answer email inquiries about the status of the order. They can answer the phone when I call. Before purchasing a Staker hat, I asked myself two questions ... did I want to pay that much for hat, and did I want to wait that long for a hat AFTER I already paid for it? I read on the web site that it could take up to a year before receiving the hat, so Craig asked for patience. I have looked at other hatters' web sites, and most say it takes time to get the bodies or blanks (backorder issues), so they ask for patience. My hat arrived today, and the answers to both questions I initially asked myself are a resounding YES! The hat is beautifully made and fits perfectly, so it was worth the money. I called this company a year ago and ordered a ( man with no name hat ) He said it would take 12 weeks for delivery. I called him back after 8 weeks to find out status on hat he said he couldn't get the body to make the hat after he took out 300.oo$ for the hat. He asked if I could give him another 8 weeks to get the body and make the hat. 8 weeks later he never called me and I never got the hat. I had the bank call him and I called him an to this day I never received the hat or my money back. So please don't get this creep to make you a hat because you will never get it. I will let the annotated pictures tell most of this story. I waited 6 months for Craig Staker to deliver a hat that was misshapen, roughly cut, stained and dirty, as well as haphazardly assembled. The cheap, thin ribbon was not properly affixed. The dents in the crown were not symmetrical. The measurements of the crown and brim are not the measurements of the hat as offered in the catalog. He used the wrong size hat body. The thin cheap ribbon is roughly tacked to the crown and not flush with the brim. I will not be wearing it. It sits slightly sideways on my head - noticeably. But that is not the extent of it. I asked Staker for compensation or a re-working of the hat over a month ago and Craig Staker has not replied. As I told him in my final email to him, a child could have done better. I would have expected what he sent me to be in a Goodwill store. read more

i ordered over a year ago. never got my hat. my emails get returned to me. i cannot get a hold of a human. i spent over 300 dollars.

BEWARE! Do Not Buy From This Guy! Just got off the phone with Craig, trying to get a refund for a hat my wife ordered in November 2020, and was not finally sent until mARCH 2021, AND then only after multiple calls. and emails. Hat didn't fit and was poor quality. And now he won't refund payment. Been wearing western hats while riding for decades from Rand to Steton. Made western films. Western hat folks are generally like most westerners. Friendly, polite, helpful and fair. Not this guy. Have never met such a rude cheat. Taking legal action right after this post. read more

I ordered a hat from Staker Custom Hats in March of 2020. I was told the hat would be ready by September. September came around and I still hadn't received the hat, which was understandable due to COVID. I called and emailed Staker Custom Hats for an update but did not receive a response. It is now March of 2021 and I still haven't received the hat that I ordered or any updates. Be very careful ordering from this buisiness! read more

Poor communication, long delays in delivery, wouldn't respond to my request to cancel the order when a ridiculous long delivery was given after the order was placed. Had to get VISA to reverse the charge. WARNING!!! This guy is a risk and there are better options. read more

I would like to caution anyone about staker hat company. i ordered a hat from them on February 15th 0f 2021 and was suppose to be delivered in 6 weeks so I expected to get the Hat around March 31 at the latest. But that didn't happen, So i called Stacker Hats Company on mid March to ask when i could expect to receive my hat he said it would be sent out on May 14. but still didn't receive the hat. i didn't receive the hat until may 27th, the hat was too bug the brim was too small and the hat band was cheap cloth replica , it should have been leather. the over all quality the hat was Fair at best. in my opinion it was not worth the money I payed for it. read more
