This is a little village post office, right in the heart of Stainton village in Middlesbrough. It's right opposite the church, and next door to the hair-dressers and village shop.
The post office itself has a shop, selling essentials like bread and milk, and tinned foods and a few frozen meals etc. They also have a fresh food counter where you can buy quiche, or pies, or sandwiches, which they will make up for you while you wait.
The shop also sells stationery, and random things like bird food!
The post office part is set at the back of the shop and has just two counter positions. Sometimes you do encounter queues but it's worth the wait as the staff are fantastic, especially the Post Master, Alan. They are all really good, friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to help the customers. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
The only downside is that, being just a sub post office, you can't renew your Road Tax here, but you can do just about everything else. read more
