I've been going to Edgar at Stag's Barbershop for about 3-4 years now. There are definitely barbers closer to me, but I still choose to go to him. That should tell you everything. Edgar actually listens to what I want. I don't have to stress about him doing his own thing or guessing. He pays attention and delivers every time. His fades are always clean. Smooth transitions, sharp lines, consistent cut after cut. That's the biggest thing for me -- consistency. I've never walked out disappointed. On top of that, he's just a chill dude. Good vibe, no rush, no weird energy. It's always a solid experience. If you want someone who's reliable, listens, and stays consistent year after year, Edgar's your guy. If I could give this place no stars I would. Really bummed because we come from out of town, last year my husband and son got haircuts here and they were so good. My son was going out of town with his aunt again and needed a haircut so I booked him one online. I had booked a skin fade, and even confirmed the appointment ahead of time. This is what he walked out with. So embarrassing and for $50 is diabolical. Do not go here. My son is 6 years old and has been getting haircuts since he was 1. The good: I didn't have an appointment but I was greeted right away and seen within 5 minutes of sitting down. The haircut overall was ok, but not 40 dollars good. The bad: the environment is not for people in my age group or for people who would prefer to not have someone pop bubble wrap in the ear of the person using scissors on my head. I didn't appreciate the popping sound in my ear and the barber complained it hurt his ear as well. No apology for acting like children, just men being boys while charging you 40 dollars for a haircut. More of a social club of friends and not a business worried about clients or maybe I just wasn't their target demographic and they couldn't care less if I returned. I could have gone to great clips and had more professionalism. read more

Esteban Raya, five star every time! Since moving to Napa I've tried many places and while there very good places to go, he is who I go to. He's easy to describe to what you want and will make it happen, never rushes. I've never felt out of place at Stags Barbershop, every one greets you. They use an online app called Vagaro where you can book your choice of service with your choice of stylist. And pricing is great and fair to you and them and I've even come back when my wife wanted to see something different with immediate seating and no charge!! I move every couple years and had haircuts across the US and internationally, and as long as I stay within an hours drive I'll be making the drive here to Stags where I know it's good! read more

Stags is the best. Shawn Marquez has been cutting my hair for a couple of years now. I have had a lot of botch jobs in my many years. Shawn takes his time and makes you feel like family. The guy who cut my hair was very friendly and it was my first time in. They take walk-ins and have appointments available via an app, which was very convenient. It's a little of a pain going to other barber shops when you just take a seat with 4-5 people waiting ahead of you. When asked about my side length, I requested not to see skin. He cut my hair on the sides very short and I see skin. Also left a patch on the side near the front that looks like a mistake, much closer cut than surrounding areas. Other than that, the cut around the ears, neck line and top were good. $40 for a haircut raises the expectation that you will get the best in town, but I left not believing I received that. The good thing is that they take credit card, which makes it easier not to carry cash and having an appointment, getting right in was great. Will I go back? Probably not. I can get the same or better haircut at $30 or less in many places in town. Again, nice experience with all the friendliness, the shop was clean and upscale. No gripes there. read more

Got a haircut today at Stags barbershop booked an appointment with Edgar. Arrived early so waited patiently for my turn in the chair which is fine. When I was greeted by Edgar he wasn't very polite and when I told him what I wanted but he seemed to be irritated and in a bad mood but it was whatever I'm sure it's been a long week since it was the day before Christmas Eve. Got my beard and hair and after only 20 minutes he was already done. After he handed me the mirror to ask if I liked it, he didn't even do everything that I had asked. And after I noticed, he remembered he said just said "oh I forgot" I felt very rushed and not valued as a customer at all. Called and Corey answered the phone, he was super personable and told me to be there in an hour.
