In fact they are probably butcher-sized (not that I have found any pubs in Australia that actually serve butchers). I actually quite like these small beers, though for some reason I would prefer a little more. Anyway, this bar is pretty much dedicated to the guy that geeks the world over love and admire. In fact, if you are a geek, and you are in Cologne then this is a bar that you should check out. I knew about it, but didn't actually know where it was, that is until I was wandering through the back alleys of the old city and discovered it. Okay, it isn't hugely geeky, it just has a heap of pictures of Einstein covering the wall, but it's still pretty cool.

They can fit about 50 people in the bar and there is some outdoor seating with view of the beautiful castle next door and some nice manicured gardens. I was taken here by a colleague who knows the owners of this pub as well as the owners of the castle. The atmosphere here is fabulous and unless you knew this place existed you would probably not find it. Don't expect any English as your chances of finding this is pretty slim. They have a huge screen set up and showing the World Cup games and it was packed with locals tonight for the Germany game. They serve mostly beer and wine and some schnapps. The food menu is small and it's mostly things like cheeses, cold meats, breads and so on. I would love to come back here again and soak in the beautiful surroundings and the atmosphere.
