The cakes on offer have been different each visit, depending on what they decided to create that day. I've twice had a chocolate cake and been enamored with the flavour and moistness. The prices are very reasonable and the quality high - give it a try! You can eat in... or take away and wander down to the Rhein for an enjoyable riverside snack. There's also a daily lunch offer which I'm yet to try. One day, as long as I'm not distracted by the cake and take that instead...

There were six of them right in front of the counter, making it impossible to order. While in line, the waitress squeezed past me (I was stuck between all those prams and the next customer) jamming the tray into my back. Once I finally got to order, I was asked to have here, or take away? I asked if there was even space to be seated. The answer was "no". What was the point of asking then?! Totally puzzled by this weirdly disturbing café experience I made my way out. If you enjoy your coffee in a pram-packed, loud café with untrained, unfriendly staff amongst the special species of mothers with big attitudes... this is the place to be.

The drinks are a bit mediocre, though. They seem to be more of an afterthought. Staff in general are polite. One barman, however, was really rude. We asked if he could make a White Russian (during the day, I would never ask if it were super busy). He then acted like we'd shot his dog. After we finished our drinks and paid, he actually called us over and started scolding us like naughty children. He said we could only order the drinks on the menu. That's fair enough but the way he did it was incredibly patronizing and rude. We were only asking a question. Don't think he works there anymore, thank God. Other than that, one of my favorite bars in Bonn.
