Literature near the entrance explains how this city garden came to be. It was eerie for being completely deserted (I visited while the local residents were likely at work, so only the bees kept me company), and at that time of year this hidden gem in the city was more beautifully in bloom than the palace garden. The trellis of flowers at the entrance make you feel like you're Alice entering Wonderland, and the sound of adjacent traffic fades as walk deeper into the grounds. Seating areas are scattered in pockets throughout the community garden, plus there was a small play area where kids can crawl through a short tunnel and use their imaginations. If I had stayed closer, I would've gotten coffee to go and relaxed here every day. read more
