This felt like the peak of the Hague's reputation as a city of lush green spaces. Including the Japanese garden (which is only groomed and opened for four weeks, twice a year), three hours is an adequate amount of time to wander the grounds, and there's a smattering of benches around if sitting back in open grass doesn't appeal to you. It's a beautiful place to relax and decompress (and add to your daily step count). We didn't stop in at the cafe since its menu seemed limited, but plenty of regulars seemed happy to give them business. There were fewer water fountains than another park we visited, and no bathrooms. read more
