Since then, he has been under the care of an incredible team at Compassionate Care in Ann Arbor. On the morning of May 2, Chipper wasn't acting like himself. He refused to eat and seemed to be having what I feared was an irregular heartbeat episode. I called the clinic, knowing they were closed, and was advised to take him to the nearest emergency hospital. I was scared and unsure of what to do next. Then something happened that I will never forget. I received a call from Dr. Forbes. She wanted to know what was going on with Chipper. Without hesitation, she chose to put her personal plans aside to come in and care for him. She told me to head to the clinic and check in online. She even said she was in her pajamas but would be there in about ten minutes to meet us. In that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief. Knowing that Chipper would be seen by Dr. Forbes, someone who truly understands his condition, gave me hope when I needed it most. When we arrived, Dr. Forbes, along with Becky and another nurse, welcomed us with such kindness and compassion. They treated Chipper with so much care and treated me with the same level of empathy and understanding. You could feel how much they genuinely care, not just about the animals, but about the families who love them. Compassionate Care has always been wonderful to us, but this experience went far beyond anything I could have expected. The level of dedication, empathy, and selflessness shown by Dr. Forbes and her team means more to me than I can fully put into words. I truly believe that if it were not for Dr. Forbes and her incredible staff, this could have been a very different outcome. I am beyond grateful for everything you did for Chipper and for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

They care for them as if they are their own and every single person I have met or interacted with has been very friendly and professional and I am shocked they don't have 5 stars across the board. The few visits we have had with Dr. Cervantes have also been great and got to the bottom of a medical issue after we first moved here, and every member of their staff has also been amazing and I truly feel they all care for my boys like they are their own (Special shout out to to the extra love and attention Brynn has given Cooper). I appreciate the lack of waiting room with curb side check in as both of my boys are anxious going to the vet and this makes it so much less stressful for them/me. I can't recommend them enough - 5 stars all the way would give more if I could. Thank you Compassionate Care Animal Hospital for taking such amazing care of my boys!!

This review has been a long time coming, sorry it took so long!…read more Dr. Monica is probably THE best veterinarian I have encountered in my many years of dog ownership. She is exceptional, her and her staff compassionate and understanding, and they listen to their patients ~ two and four legged ones! I have been very selective as to the vet I use for my Service Dog Sammy, and the fact that she comes to us makes his experience much more calm and enjoyable. I also appreciate that she is all about proactive care through food and herbal solutions in order to slow down or even eliminate unnecessary damage in the future, since I rely on my service dog for many tasks his well being incredibly important to me, as well as his longevity! I would highly recommend Dr. Monica and her staff to anyone looking for a great vet in Washtenaw County!

We trusted Arbor Hills with our dog Fig's surgery to treat recurrent UTI's, and it turned into the…read moremost frightening weekend we've had with her. We were told the surgery wouldn't affect her ability to pee and that an anti-inflammatory was all the pain medication she'd need. Then they scheduled it for the Friday before Labor Day weekend with no emergency instructions, no after-hours number, and no way to reach her surgical team. Fig couldn't urinate on her own for almost three days. She cried through the night and had to be carried because she was in so much pain. Both emergency clinics this practice recommended turned us away. When we begged the clinic's manager for help, we got no substantive response. We ended up at three different emergency pet hospitals over the weekend, with the last escalating to a fentanyl patch for the pain. We even had to have Fig's sutures repaired when one of them split open because they were done so poorly. We spent over $2,000 on emergency care which was more than the original cost of the procedure. After all of that, the only follow-up from the clinic was a single text. Not even a reminder to have Fig's sutures removed, nevermind checking in on her after being made aware of the horrific weekend she endured. We'd tell anyone thinking about using this vet to consider other options.

I've been taking my pets to City Pets for the past seven years, and I couldn't be happier with the…read morelevel of care they receive. I started going there because my angora rabbit needed veterinary attention and City Pets was one of the few local vets who would treat "exotics." We had such a good experience there that, despite the fact that the clinic is on the other side of town from where I live, I immediately transferred my cats to their care as well (and when we got a puppy a few years later, he became a patient there, too). Drs. Hui and Weinrick are two of the most caring, compassionate, attentive veterinarians I've ever known. They and their staff not only take plenty of time with my pets when we go in for an office visit, they also follow up with personal phone calls and are accessible between appointments for any questions or concerns I have. Their staff is exceptionally friendly and responsive as well. Routine check-ups and vaccinations are so easy and enjoyable at City Pets. Their facility is clean and bright, and we never have to wait very long to be seen. Last summer, our elderly cat developed kidney disease and needed lots of extra veterinary care. The staff at City Pets was so kind and helpful, working with me to relieve my cat's suffering and give her a good quality of life during her final months. They were so responsive to my many phone calls and emails. When my cat passed in March, I received an email from one of the veterinarians and a card signed by each member of the staff; I was so touched by this. Then when I came in this week for my dog's annual exam, every single person on staff said something kind to me about the loss of our cat; they communicated real care and concern for me and for my family. I trust Drs. Hui and Weinrick to give my pets the highest level of care, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a competent and compassionate veterinary experience.

They are helpful over the phone deciding if your pet should be seen that day or if they can wait to be seen by their normal vet. They are upfront about costs and check in before performing things like Xrays while giving you the cost of the procedure - you can also ask about costs at any time. The front desk team is great with animals and getting them taken back - they always have kind things to say to dogs and have been very complimentary of my kitten. The vet and vet techs are so kind and informative. They always had time to answer my questions and explained what was wrong with my kitten and how we were going to get her healed up. The waiting rooms are large and while it is an emergency vet so wait times will be higher, I never felt like I was waiting an unreasonable amount of time considering that my kitten wasn't immediately life threateningly ill. Overall, I really appreciate how the whole team is communicative about the process, cost, and care so I can get my kitten healthy.
