When the weather grows colder and the outdoor public tennis courts close for the year Stade IGA is the most affordable option if you want to continue playing tennis throughout the winter months. They have a large number of indoor courts for you to reserve. It will be more expensive than the outdoor courts run by the city but then again their operating costs are higher.
Everything about the facilities is beautiful. There is a waiting area with tables and chairs where you can take a break, wait for your reservation or just watch the other matches going on. The locker rooms are spacious and clean. The courts are in good shape and there are nets between each one so if you make a bad stroke your ball won't travel too far. My only complaint is that the air is a little stuffy, but I imagine that it is hard to get proper ventilation in a large, open space such as this one.
For those of us who don't want to pay for membership at private tennis clubs Stade IGA offers an excellent alternative to keep playing tennis when the outdoor courts close for the year. It is also well located and can be easily accessed by public transit or car. read more
