I appreciate that they offer later hours on weeknights, and they ALWAYS fit us in, even if it's close to closing time. That's usually when our dog seems to have issues, too, when our usual vet is already closed. No matter who we have seen--or at what time--we have received exceptional care at NMAH. So far, we've seen Dr. David James, Dr. Paul Kritzinger, Dr. Schaff (now retired), Dr. Kimberly Renehan, Dr. Rachel Spickler, Dr. Katie Blackard, and Dr. Anna Shaffer. The doctors are extremely thorough, and we always leave feeling like JoJo has been well cared for. They are also great about emailing us visit summaries and aftercare instructions, and they share details of our visits with our usual vet to ensure communication of her treatment plans. Even NMAH's technicians and front desk staff are wonderful. Everyone is just so warm and compassionate, and they understand the urgency of our situations. We highly recommend NMAH!

I have been to 3 so far; the first two were nice, but didnt particularly stand out. Fortunately, Dr Holland did at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. I have brought in 2 of my cats so far, and each time Dr Holland has been great with them, and has researched info on medications and options with specialists both for my cats with FIP and with eye issues; both visits, he was understanding about pricing concerns and gave options that I felt were fair and helpful, including thorough emails with additional info and follow up. The office is impeccably clean and the staff very kind. I have passed his info on to the rest of the family, and finally feel that we've found our new vet.

After seeing the regular vet and my cat's serious illness not improving, I called Urgent Vet ahead…read moreof time to ask about bringing my cat in for IV fluids. They told me to come in the next day so I got there when they opened the next morning. They ran labs and I had to wait 2 hours for the vet to then tell me they don't offer IV fluids and refer me to an emergency vet. Every hour is critical for the illness my cat has so they wasted a ton of time and the damage could be irreversible because of that according to the vet. Also wasted $400 in duplicate charges because I had to go to the emergency vet immediately from there. Update to review- The practice manager did reach out to me and apologized. She said they will improve their training on this to try to prevent it in the future, which I appreciate and is why I brought up the issue. I also want to say the vet tech and vet that we saw there were great despite not being able to provide the treatment my cat needed.

Ironic Really sad because I only use in extreme emergencies due to past history of bad experiences and always wanting thousands of dollars of unnecessary testing and when declined the vet refused to work with me any longer. Nothing like consumer choice! The only reason I went back tonight was because my last dog had a heart attack and end of life and the vet that evening was great. If you had to close you post online as well if that is how to schedule apt

It took an…read moreentire week, and the horse came off the trailer colicking, exhausted and so dehydrated we had to have the vet out immediately. The horse drank three full buckets of water within three hours of being unloaded as thought she hadn't had water in days. If she had been on the trailer for another hour or two she would have gone down in transit. She arrived just in time. My poor client had to have the emergency vet out within hours of receiving her new horse. What an absolute nightmare - the only shipping nightmare in my career, and my first experience with this company. Communication from the shipper with my client was bad from the very beginning. Client received no photo updates even though she requested them, and delivery was delayed repeatedly with no explanation...but the driver arrived talking ON her cell phone and seemed to have been for some time, so it seems that operating safety and communication simply aren't a priority. The ramp on the rig was downright dangerous: barely wide enough for a small horse to get up and down safely, with an impossible 12" drop down into the ramp. The ramp itself was a literal plywood slide with no rubber or texture for grip, lined by flimsy 1/4" press board "guards" held in place by a bungee cord. I should have taken photos - it was the most dangerous, terrifying setup I've seen in a long time. All of this on top of the fact that another horse on the trailer (headed to another destination) had a terrible cough and the rig looked and smelled like it hadn't been sanitized in months. The hauler also told us she'd had the windows closed for some time. She had no problem telling us how she was "training" the horse to haul, but doesn't seem to know how to properly feed and water the animals in her care. Cute. Do not use this company for long distance transport. Just straight up don't. Yes, I know they're cheap and it's tempting to try to save a buck or two. I know you think "it can't be that bad" and "the horse will be fine." I'm here to advise you against this line of thinking. If you love your horses, hire someone else. Paying more for a better shipper is *always* cheaper than an emergency vet bill. Run - do not walk - away from this company. Your horse (and your wallet) will thank you.

I have heard horror stories from multiple people one of whom I know, that have had horses delivered half dead to put it. They do not take care of these horses they transport. No food, water takes them 10 days to ship across the country.
