Staar Entertainment is Tampa's best kept secret for events!
John happened to be setting up for a different event on the day we went to see our venue for our daughter's Quince Celebration. We talked briefly and he was so personable and not pushy in promoting his services, but rather genuinely speaking about the options his company could offer. My 14 year old daughter was enthused with the lighted platform cubes, the big screen, and the "Everwall", a way for guests to post their pictures to a social media platform and have them appear on the big screen. The event coordinator from the venue casually mentioned that John was very well liked in the area, and that she had had several clients change their dates based on John's availability.
In the days prior to the event, John repeatedly checked with us to clarify details about where to set up, the ceremony protocol, the music requests, etc. Excellent communication!
On the day of the event, I want to highlight the FABULOUS experience we had during the party.
We had set up the decorations the day before and the ballroom looked beautiful, but when we came in the next day and John and Andy had set up their lights and props. It was AMAZING! His lighting really embellished the room and brought a very "swag" atmosphere to it. It was a very large room but no corner was neglected.
He was a wonderful master of ceremonies. He kept track of our protocol, practiced our names so as not to mispronounce them, and was the best at getting people involved and energized. He even had everyone playing a Kahoot! game from their phones!
We had provided John with a list of songs that each guest had included with their RSVP. Guests would jump up when they heard their request: That's my song!
Despite the wide variety of genres in the requests, the transitions were seamless, perfectly timed, and targeted each age group at some point of the night. Also, there were no empty moments or awkward silences.
Oh! Lest not forget we had asked him to play song snippets for our brief family choreography and he knew exactly where to start and stop each snippet!
The teenagers particularly enjoyed the lighted lounge and the dancing riser cubes, where they took turns featuring as the center of attention.
The Everwall was a huge hit! Guests posted their pictures by texting them to a phone number on the screen, Andy helped with that too! Everyone was excited to see their pictures up there and people could then comment on them. They will later provide you with all of the posted pictures.
Of note, John has the ability to play the original videos available online for your requested songs. The teenagers LOVED that! I recommend you choose the videos ahead of time as some of the most popular songs have very racy videos that may offend some of your guests. John picked up on that and swiftly adjusted what he projected on the screen.
I could go on and on about the marvelous experience John brought to our party. We had guest after guest approach us to compliment his work. We recommend him hands down. Your best choice for entertainment! read more
