I've supported and shopped at St. Vincent de Paul for years, but my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed. My family is going through a very difficult time. We were referred to the voucher program for a recliner and clothing assistance to help us through, but things were mishandled from the start. The initial paperwork was dropped by Olivia, and we never received the recliner. When I returned to the store to use the rest of the voucher, I was met with condescension and raised voices from the store manager, Lisa. When I explained that I felt disrespected, her response was "to me," disregarding how I felt entirely. She also said, "I don't understand why you're getting so emotional right now," which was incredibly insensitive given the circumstances -- though she didn't know about my medical issue, showing empathy shouldn't depend on that. She insisted she was no longer handling the issue with Olivia and that she was "doing it with her" (referring to herself), and told me I "should've called" -- as if I had the time or emotional capacity to navigate internal confusion during a medical crisis. This organization is supposed to lift people up when they're struggling. Instead, I was made to feel like a burden. I truly hope leadership at St. Vincent de Paul reevaluates how store management treats people in vulnerable situations. read more

First of all you need to readjust your hours on Yelp. It says open at 9, but in fact it is 10 when you open. Second the prices are awesome however, not sure if they actually take 50% off the color of the day at the register. I still gave it 5 stars because they are really good store. read more

I'm disappointed in your location on Monday July 8th 2024. I raced from work in traffic before closing to simply take a measurement of a piece of furniture. The front door was locked at least 5 to 7 minutes before closing. Think there was an angry lumbering lady supervisor working tonight that always seems to have a bad attitude. Also, when I walked to the exit door an employee seen me standing there and sneakily locked the exit door to 5 minutes before closing. All I had to do was measure piece of furniture to see if it would fit in my home!!? I'm a loyal with giving generous donations (all the time) and a loyal customer too at your store. So I called and "Maudi" answered the phone when I asked for a manager she put the phone down and refused to talk. I could hear them at the register ringing up people. When I asked for a manager the person on the line ignored my request. (They were still open) also when I attempted to call back they intentionally did not pick up. When I first called.. I could hear the manager or supervisor talking with a customer because they put the phone down. All I had to do was measure a piece of furniture and that would have taken 60 seconds in the store!! You have posted hours for a reason and peopl should be able to walk though that door before closing in a reasonable manner to ask questions and measure. Please Change your hours to 6:50 if you are going to lock the door 10 minutes before closing. I would like a call back from a manager of the Kenosha location to give this feedback. Huge store with tons of options. I came in to look for china and was not disappointed at the selection. Lots of clothes too.

Very, very clean!!!! Seriously clean! Walk in the door and there is no odor of dirty clothes or dank, damp smell. The floor was sparkling, the windows clean, the counter wiped. This store tries to give the atmosphere of a regular retail store, with shelves and departments attractively arranged. There are sections, and unlike Goodwill, St. Vincent's still takes good, used furniture. The prices were reasonable, again unlike Goodwill. I enjoyed my visit and will be returning soon, even if all I bought was one plate. read more

Unfortunately, because of my experience I won't be returning. It was a great thrift, but I was followed around the whole store. Assuming because I'm black. I thought nothing of it until an employee truly made his way into every isle I was in. So I decided to move to a different area of the store and there he was. At this point I knew it wasn't a coincidence. I also had my 9 month baby with me. It's disappointing to say the least. I hope no one else has to experience this. read more

I discovered this shop almost two years ago! It's my new favorite thrift store in the area!! Excellent prices, clean and organized and I never leave with an empty cart. I shop for glass ware , baskets, books, and CDS They have the absolute best prices!! Very helpful and cheerful employees are the frosting on the cake!!! Loved this thrift store. There was a lot of quality items that was pretty cheap. My sister found a dress and pair of pants and I found a cute skirt. Would come again if I was in the area. I wish Anchorage had places and prices like this. There was a lot of good kitchen stuff here, I wish I had room in my suitcase to bring it back with me. read more

Now this place I like. First of all it's quite big. Has a nice selection of knick knacks. They're not crowded together. They have them organized nicely. Good size selection of books, place is clean. Restroom is also clean which is important when you're doing a marathon thrift store run. A nice amount of furniture to pick from. Staff is friendly. Purses here are soso. Doubt if I would gind one. Nice parking. It is definitely worth try. They also have quite a few pictures to pick from that I thought were reasonably priced. read more

They gave me a free walker/home medical supplies when i was fresh out the hospital from a spinal cord injury, after reading what happened in Kenosha News. The store is loaded with stuff and its kinda hard to move around, but you'll be sure to come out with what you're looking for. I have nothing but love for these people! read more

This is hands down my favorite thrift store in Wisconsin (and I love shopping at thrift stores...). I got this amazing pair of 1950s arm chairs...two chairs for $10. Yes, that's right, I said $10. I also got some really great mid-century vases and some milk glass dishes for super cheap. You should totally check this place out if you're in the area. read more

Accidentally found this place and I'm very happy I did. I was looking for Christmas decorations and they had a lot of it. Bonus Christmas was 25% off. This is the cleanest thrift store I have ever been too. The prices are reasonable. I asked and they have a color tag sale Monday & Tuesday. They have a large book section. What a sad experience. This is third time I have dealt with witch who runs cash register. I asked an employee about two items I had, both exactly same but different prices. She said I would get the lower price. Cool. But when I went up to register woman shook her head and said no, and not in a kind way. Then another woman spoke up and they both shook their heads. When I asked to see a manager, the first one yelled, "I'm the manager!" The second one yelled, "I'm the supervisor!" Grr... As long as old witch there I will not shop there. I had to volunteer there for a while. This place needs to go under. If you're hispanic you DO get special treatment. Very bad management. She has no experince and a horrible people person, unless you're hispanic like she is. Most of the donations go right in the employees cars. It's a free for all.Really,I've seen it.I would really consider donating to Goodwill instead of this place. read more

I'll have to admit I liked the old location better, a lot of their vintage housewares disappeared with the move along with the quality and charm of what they had on display. Its a hit or miss every time I go in. I find that since they can put more out all at once, they put a lot of low quality items out that depreciates the quality items. I think they just need some better merchandising. But I would still check it out if you have never been, there are many hidden gems :) read more

st paul is a good store when you got money, but they really need to look at the charity if you get this thing called a voucher you can only get items that are of a lower quality or sometimes not even name brand and furniture you have to pay half price. I've been shopping at St Vincent De Paul for years. Within the last 1-2 years, their prices have greatly increased. There used to be a time when I could buy a piece of well made furniture from this store for $30 or less. Now the prices are close to what furniture stores or antique stores sell for. Everything worth looking at is well over $100. If I had that kind of money for furniture, I wouldn't be shopping at a thrift store! It's very discouraging. read more
