They have great clothing

I am updating my review. I went from a full 5 to a 1 for a few reasons. The first reason is in a few short months they seem to have lost their minds with prices. In many cases above retail. I think they are going out to resale pages and not looking at sold price but listing which resellers in many cases know they will negotiate down 50% and charge for specialty item as well as shipping. I won't be back - this was outright gouging pricing. The second reason is it is also not clean and they lock their restrooms - and when you go to get a key they are crabby.

This is my favorite SVdP in the area, I think it's probably less picked over than thrifts stores in Eugene or Springfield. The store is sizeable, and they have a nice selection of decent quality furniture in a secured, covered outdoor area. I've found a few gems here that will keep me coming back.

We voiced concerns over how my brother was being treated at the school and he actually became sick as we're dealing with many other obstacles right now. We were in Portland over night because he was filling the toilet with blood. Now we're being victimized by the teachers and the supervisor. The way we have been treated since we had to start the day treatment program has been awful. It's supposed to be a school for kids who have special needs but it seems more like jasper mountain for troubled kids. My brother needs more social help than straight discipline. We now get a call from a supervisor saying that we are completely dropped from the child center because of our complaints. The communication with the teacher "counselors" has been horrible through all this. We have had the best experiences here for a long time until the day treatment program. We feel victimized and left out in the cold by them now. This was the one place that truly was helping us until now. My donations will be going elsewhere. Really sad to see this happening. The bullying by the supervisor has been extremely hurtful.

I really like that they help out disaster survivors and domestic abuse survivors in furnishing their new homes, that's what sold me to donating to them over anyone else. However, if I'm paying for a service then I expect to have my furniture taken if it's in respectable shape. The deal is $40 to pick up your items, in my case it was a fairly used mattress but clean. Perfectly good for someone who really needs a bed. They arrived, glanced at the mattress and decided that it was not worthy of their outstanding services. I asked if they could take the box spring and they said yes despite that being in worse shape than the mattress. I asked if they would call about a payment that I could process via my card but instead the employees stated "You can just pay us in cash." I regret paying them at all as it wasn't worth the time and certainly wasn't worth the money. All around wouldn't recommend this place if you're trying to get rid of a mattress as they'll only accept it if it is in pristine brand new condition.
