She, along with the other teachers there are all very caring and kind. Mrs. Emily is the head teacher at Vinci Park. She is very attentive and willing to speak to me via text or phone at any time when I had questions or concerns. The students learn to sing English and Chinese songs, they do various arts and crafts, and their activities are diverse and fun. My son enjoyed going to school every single day! I am very appreciative of Sunshine school and will alway have fond memories of my boys growing up at this school!

Last year he was at the Vinci Park campus where he is in the orange class. The staff at this campus are super loving, caring and friendly. My son was able to quickly adapt and love the teacher here, and he is especially fond of Ms. Huang and Ms. Emily. At one point he refused the idea of going to a school without Ms. Huang lol... One of the reason we picked this school was that I wanted my son to speak mandarin in early childhood. Most of the teachers here are native mandarin speaking, and this is a bi-lingual school. So if you are looking for mandarin immersion experience for your kids, this is a great choice! My son so far is a fluent mandarin speaker and he speaks some basic English too -- I am sure he will pick up that very fast later. My son learned letters, numbers, and some basic Chinese characters read and write by age 4. I am not academic focused and I am very happy with the progress. The school has plenty of outdoor time, and artwork time -- every day my son brings home a piece of work he made at school which is really nice. Last but not the least, the staff are super flexible and supportive of working parents. My drop off and pick up hours are based on my work meeting schedule, and they were always understanding and supportive. One time we went on international travel and after we got back, my son was jet lagged and super moody when I drop him off, Ms Emily gave us a few minutes to work it out, and told me if you need to go, we got it. If you like to spend more time to calm him down, feel free to do so. She checked with us multiple times to check my son was ok as well as I was ok with the delayed drop off. Super appreciated as a working parent!

The summer following Kindergarten, she was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. On the recommendation from a coworker, we toured the Merryhill school. From the outset, we were impressed. The curriculum was on par with the other school, and the diversity of the experience was clearly wide ranging. Once the school year started it became even more clear that the principal was highly engaged with all the students, and that between her and the teachers, they would bend over backwards to assure that the accommodations necessary for my daughter were in place. Unlike my daughter's former school, we were able to work with her teachers to assure that through her school work and tests, she could demonstrate what she had learned, instead of putting her into a cookie-cutter educational system that tests in only one way and does not accommodate for her needs. As she has entered the third grade, we could not be more thrilled with the Merryhill experience and the staff at the school. My daughter has gone from hating school to not being able to get enough. Her grades continue to maintain at the highest level and she scored above her grade level in standardized testing. Her confidence in both her academics and her social interactions continues to grow. I sincerely believe this is in big part due to the efforts of the Merryhill staff. While every school and every environment is not for every student, parents should be doing their due diligence in assessing the most appropriate direction for their child. We are incredibly fortunate to have found Merryhill at a time during which we had numerous questions. A great big thank you to Merryhill Elementary School.

The administration at this school is fully aware of how poorly they've treated their staff. Instead of addressing the issues, they seem more focused on hiding the truth. For this matter my daughter will not enroll in this school. The front staff are so rude! They need to be trained on proper customer service. And the principal is rude as well. They all need better training! But what's done in the dark always finds its way to the light. To any parents considering this school please think twice. For the sake of your children and the educators who deserve better.

My son was kicked out of school for 1 day because another kid misled him. He had to write an apology letter per the teacher's request. I am pleased with this because I want a school to be strict on discipline. If you are being late or bully other kids or misbehave, and no consequence is given, this is not good for the child. So I am glad my son learned the lesson early. 6) Extremely generous. They give generous financial aid, and I am very thankful 7) A lot of after-school enrichment program choices.

The school offered a great selection of classes, which made it easy to choose a variety of programs based on my child's interests and learning needs. One of the highlights was the Academic Bridge Camp taught by Ms. Mandal. It was a fantastic class that helped the children review and prepare for first grade in a fun and engaging way. The lessons allowed them to continue learning during the summer without feeling overwhelmed. Ms. Mandal is very organized and methodical. She sent a weekly newsletter explaining what would be covered and also provided daily email updates about the academic activities completed in class. This made it very easy for us to stay informed about what was happening in the classroom. She is kind, encouraging, and appreciative of the children while also maintaining good structure in the classroom. My child says she is "only a little strict" and likes her very much! There's multiple playgrounds here for various ages, including the toddlers. My nieces love to play there and it's decently well kept (newer swings, no trash). Also has Large grassy areas too. I walk my dog here on leash so she can run around and play for a bit There's also a back area where there are tables and grill stations to host a picnic by the playgrounds on weekends. Not every elementary school in the district has T-K; it is short for transitional kindergarten. It basically screws over the kids that are born after August something until December. Gavin was born on Sept. 30 which potentially means he is already a year late but whatevs. I wonder who the hell decided on that. Due to costs, I was no longer able to afford his stay w/ his pre-school so I opted for a babysitter. Everyday I get off of work, I see him bored and unchallenged. I paid for someone to keep him locked in a room. He was occupied w/ television and my iPad. No brain stimulation and no interaction. He fed himself (I packed his backpack w/ snacks, drinks, and a sandwich) and threw the leftovers or the plastic bags away. He could have "watched" himself. After 20 days (4 weeks), I decided it was enough. I made all these crazy arrangements to complete his enrollment packet. This school was full but thank goodness they were quick to contact me and let him start school that Monday. Everything was confirmed on a Friday. I was so thrilled. The principal, the office staff, and his teacher made us feel welcomed and at home. The top pillars contain quotes from "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen McCovey. I recognized that right away. I am blessed and cannot tell you how much he enjoys going to school. The school is clean, relatively well structured but parking can be a pain in the ass. I get there 20 min. early just to chill in the car. Thanks, Toyon!
