My wife and I both agree that our meal at St. Urban was the best of all the meals we had on our trip to Europe. The food was amazing, just so delicious, and plated with great attention to detail. The service was perfect: Quick, polite, genial, and always available at the right moments. And the space - Wow, so cute! I loved the ceilings and the old world charm.
For my dinner, I decided to double-down on goose. I started with a goose pate, which was placed on little tiny bread slices, and with various garnishes: Cranberry sauce, poached quince, pickled red cabbage, and also a bit of lettuce to make it a balanced appetizer! :) The pate was out of this world. So decadent, so rich, perfectly smooth. It just melted in your mouth.
My main course was the confit of goose leg, which was very nice. The skin was nice and crisp, the insides were nice and fatty. Honestly, the sides were just OK - The exterior of the mashed potato ball was a bit rubbery. But hey, the goose was great!
My vegetarian wife was happy to have a salad with candied walnuts and raspberry vinaigrette, followed by a spinach soufflé, with poached eggs, mashed potatoes, and shaved truffles (and truffle foam too!). She loved it.
I highly recommend this restaurant - It's probably even worth going out of your way for! read more
