This is the biggest Roman Catholic Church in Canterbury, which, of course, is the birthplace of Christianity in England.
It is within the city walls in Burgate, and has a small garden in front of it, behind a small wall.
The church is huge and very impressive and is named after Thomas Becket, who was martyred in the city and houses one of his relics.
The Catholic community is large in Canterbury so it is a very well-attended church, with a brilliant sound-proofed area for families with small children. The presbytery is next door.
Well worth a visit.
It is linked to St Thomas Primary school and St Anselm's secondary school. read more
