I don't know what's going on Every time I call, young kids DO NO have ANY idea what is going on. They won't tell me about my husband's condition and they won't tell me what has been happening. I to have pulled information out like I pulling her teeth out. they say ah ah ah ah. Sounds like they don't know what they're talking about. Kind of like they're keeping a secret. Especially the young staffs, when I'm trying to talk to them, I hear rattling noise like somebody's shuffling papers. Just recently, a young nurse stopped talking while I was on the phone and left deadness. NO Manners and professionalism. Like the saying goes. Left hand doesn't know what the right hands doing. Some great experiences but they were far outweighed by the bad. 2 good doctors outweighed by many more who only concerns were billing for services not provided. Great nurses were clouded by many who did not care, all punctuated by a fat cat CEO interfering in the ER when I left this place for rehab. read more

Here we go again. I must be glutton for punishment every time I make an appointment here. Well, I have COPD and my CT scan showed a significant change. My primary physician referred me and I went for a test to determine how significant the damage, but I found I was unable to perform the test. Why? I had previous broken my nose 5 times, had two rhinoplasties, and broken twice after that. The cartilage in my nose is very compromised. One side is collapsing and the tip is free floating. The old suture lines near the inside of the tip are very fragile and often break open and bleed. They take very long to heal. The test requires I place a tight clip on my nose. I can not do that and explained it to the tech. She got her supervisor and this lady came up to my chest. She displayed the typical short man's syndrome and was very pushy, terse, and not understanding my situation. I told her that her demeanor was angering me. But, she kept on going. I just turned my head and under my breath said the F word. My bad. It wasn't directed at her per say, but over the fact she was not listening to what I was saying. She even had the audacity to ask me 'why' I was there to take the test. What did she think? Did she think I just got up one morning and decided to have the test? She asked me to leave and I was fine with that since the test could not be performed. However, as I was leaving, I was putting on my mask and she shouted very loudly for me to put on my mask. It was obvious that she wanted to make a show. So, I just looked at her and asked if she was aware that I was placing my mask on at that time. Instead of an apology, she yelled for me to put on my mask again. Where does this hospital get people like this? Even if I could perform the test, her nastiness would have tarnished my want in doing so. Not impressed at all. read more

Please do not go to this hospital. I was sent there by another doctor for a breast consultation several years ago and was treated like crap. Nurse Practitioner Elizabeth Schaffer told me I was making her fell bad because I was crying because I have green ooze coming out of my left breast and her advice "to get a sports bra" did not work. I had been wearing sports bras for years prior to that as well. I canceled all of my appointments after that and complained. They refused to cancel my appointment and kept sending me paperwork to confirm appointments that I had canceled. I told them to remove my information from their system and to never contact me again. Well I am still getting emails from them. Each time I called them and told them again and told them to take me off their list and they claim they do but they never do because I just got yet another email. This has been going on for at least 3 years. I will post this review over and over each time they send me another one until they finally stop. I am also speaking with an attorney as this has to be illegal to keep harassing me after I have told them several times to never contact me again. They have sent yet another email today just a couple of days after sending me one. I have told them repeatedly to not contact me and this has absolutely nothing to do with billing. I owe them no money but they are still harassing me with emails. read more

This was the absolute worst ER experience I've ever encountered. My husband was taken there after an accident today...after being there for 2 hours I finally cleaned his head, neck, and chest from all of the dried blood. There was no real "physical exam" done. The ER physician asked where he was hurting and sent him for X-rays. Never laid a hand on him! Multiple times nurses and aids walked into the room for random things without knocking or offering explanation. Finally after 4 hours I had to ask for someone to get him some ibuprofen...then it took me asking three more times within an hour before it was given to him. Please....if you have any other choice of medical care, seek it out! Do not go here! I am a nurse and cannot imagine having a patient being treated in this manner! read more

I will start off by saying the hospital is beautiful and VERY clean. Also, You do not share rooms from the ER to being admitted. The nurses were very kind and amazing in the ER. My nurse during the late night shift to early morning on the 4th floor after I was admitted was OUTSTANDING!!!!! The things that ruined me giving them 5 stars are as follows: 1. No one gave me a menu or a number to call to order my breakfast, the kitchen called me but the phone was so far away I couldn't grab it being all wired up. I had to wait 2 hours after asking for breakfast. 2. I needed to take my pills before breakfast which they knew, they never did anything nor ordered them till I ASKED HER!!! 3. I told my nurse I needed my pill we set aside at 11:30am, didn't bring it till a hour later and my lunch was already here so I again had to hold off taking it 2 more hours!! 4. My evening pills, NO sign of them and finally at 6pm I just told them I just took ones in my purse cause I can't hold off on them or I will be hurting!! 5. Said they would bring my thyroid pill at 6am never got it till 8am! 6. Asked to see a doctor after not seeing one for 12 hours, they brushed me off and never saw the doctor. Lastly I still haven't seen a doctor for over 24 hours!!!!!! The doc said if my BP increased I could go home, while it has been perfect the last 18hrs, Yet I am still here!! I finally got mad, and left with out a discharge since the doctors didn't feel it was important to see me after 26hrs and i asked to see a doctor 2 times! I will NEVER go back here and contacting their corporate line. read more

I took my fiancé to the ER because he fractured his orbital socket, suffered a severe laceration, concussion and cut his cornea. He walked into the ER howling in pain unable to see through the blood, I had let him go in first while I tried to park. they would not allow me to join him after. I understand there are Covid restrictions and that's why, so I asked if they could at least explain to him why I wasn't inside with him and that I wasn't leaving him by choice but that I would be on standby and that he should call me when he's done. The male nurse told him "hey man your girlfriend left". 1 hour later I got a call from my fiancé saying that he had been turned away entirely because they just couldn't get to him and he was wondering why I had abandoned him. I get the ER is a hectic place but at the end of the day we're paying astronomical amounts of money in insurance or out of pocket for health care to be treated so terribly. If you need an ER go Vanderbilt or Centennial. We ended up relocating at centennial that night, which was still a long wait (as expected) but we were treated kindly. read more

For a Christian hospital I cannot believe how an elderly patient can be treated. My mom is currently a patient at St. Thomas Rutherford and the way she has been treated is not acceptable. No matter the reason the patient is in the hospital. No matter how they might act does not give a healthcare facility the right to allow their employees to neglect a patient. The health care employees all take an oath to care for the patients that enter that hospital. Am I mistaken is this not a Catholic organization. But who am I to judge. But for my elder mother to lay in her own mess for two hours in the middle of the night. And her cell phone kept from her so she could not call me. Then me having to give her a bath the next day after . IT IS UNACCEPTABLE for a CHRISTIAN HOSPITAL. My mother is not an easy patient. But they treat her like a crazy woman. And talk around her. And they don't tell her anything. They keep everything from her. Her blood pressure keeps staying low. I asked the doctor for a list of her med and all the records .. And he avoided the question by saying. He don't handle that information. Then my mother was bed ridden for three weeks. The hospital PT person took her down the hall.. All well and good. But the this same PT person decided to take her down the stair well just to get her approved for insurance to be moved out of the hospital. Which resulted in her popping her hip out of joint. Laying in pain. they gave her Tylenol. And When i got there that evening I literally had to fight to get an xray. to which they only took one view. And NO MRI done on an elderly woman who has been essentially bed ridden for 20 days ish. They let her lay in pain for hours. And no doctor NONE. even addressed it. You should see the bruising from her hip to her knee. She has been treated absolutely horrible. She is at their mercy. They have even allowed her hair to become a solid knotted mess on the back of her head. I am so disgusted and upset with this hospital. And I wont get started on the case worker. read more

I rather drive Nashville so I can get parking. The offices have valet parking brought my son ER had to call someone to come get my car. Front staff very don't care attitude I matter how sick. She does he want treated for psychiatric or medical I said he is both. I ask wheel chair no one offered any help. I brought my husband out for out patient colonoscopy which normally should not be leaving in 6 hours. Very unorganized. read more

About 18 months ago my wife unfortunately had to be admitted to the CCU at St Thomas Rutherford hospital in Murfreesboro TN. During the two weeks leading up to her "untimely" death she was given constant IV treatments for what the pulmonologists "thought" was pneumonia!!! In the later part of the second week the pulmonologist insisted that they had to intubate her in order to secure a specimen from her lung. Had I know that by doing so would result in her demise, I would never had agreed to let it happen. The pulmonologist, Dr. L. never indicated that she would not survive the procedure. Needless to say, my family and I are sick over this situation. MY ADVISE TO ANYONE WHO IS ADMITTED TO THE CCU REQUIRING TREATMENT FROM THE PULMONOLOGY DEPARTMENT THAT THEY SERIOUSLY CONSIDER MOVING THEIR LOVED ONE TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL BEFORE IT BECOMES TO LATE... My son went to the emergency room with an infected insect bite which did look bad and he was admitted and given antibiotics by IV. He was told he would be released today (Tuesday) which was fine. My son is 22 and doesn't have insurance and he was more than ready to go and the Dr had not shown up so he called the call button and told the nurse he was checking himself out in the next few minutes which he has the right to do because insurance doesn't apply. Well the nurse forgot to turn off her mic so my son could hear everything she said and it was flat out wrong. She was mocking him and repeating what he said and saying oh he does not know it doesn't work like that. Well if I worked in Murfreesboro and not in Nashville I would have gone straight over there and that BITCH would have known who I was. You don't mock patients I don't care who they are or how old they are and you certainly don't mock my son. I am so mad I really want to drive over there and find her and let her know what's what. I would probably get thrown out by security but that's ok I would feel better. But if they are mocking patients imagine what else goes on.... PISSED OFF read more

Poor communication. Poor time management. You can spend days here and not know what is going on. I've asked multiple nurses and they say to talk to the dr. Have only seen a dr once in 36 hours of being here. They run a bunch of tests but can't tell you why, just to talk to the dr that may or may not come by. read more

My husband was admitted to the Hospital Dec. 20th where he was having severe pain which was due to a blockage from kidney to bladder which was later diagnosed with bladder cancer . He was in the Hospital a total of 3and a half days I believe it was the third day my husband called me at night to tell me he was in severe pain and no one would come to check on him. I told him to push the button for help which he said he did several times so I called and talked to a male nurse and asked him to please check on him and was yelled at and told do you mind we are trying to save someone's life I'll get to him when I can. Thank God our friends showed up and when they seen him in so much pain looked out his room door and told the nurse he couldn't let my husband lay there like that and not do anything, She said they were all at the desk sitting. When the nurse came in they did a ultra sound and found my husband was full of urine because he could not pee it filled up two bottles full and more and was told to my husband by the male nurse that only one fourth of 1 bottle was the only amount a bladder was supposed to hold. In my opinion my husband could have died. When I arrived the next morning when I was in billing I told the woman there what had happened. Then later two women came to the room to get my statement about what happened. What is wrong with people? doesn't that nurse no one day he will be there too? how is he going to feel when he gets someone who cares so little for a humans life, He took an oath to care for a life . .The Dr. was wonderful no complaints there. And the day staff awesome. But come on Really!!!!!!!!! if I could have put no star I would have. read more

Several of my family members were bitten by bed bugs while visiting my mother who was assigned to a room on the 4th floor. I contacted the patient representative and the chief hospital administrator. No phone calls were returned. The couch in my mothers room had a big tear( app. 14 inches) in it. We slept on the torn couch and used the linens from the hospital because we spent the night there.
