In my line of work, I visit a lot of religious institutions. I've been to this particular catholic church outside of my professional capacity many times as well. I think I like the old building better than the new. First, you can not take a casket down the center isle because of the steps. There is also a font in the way but it is actually kind of cool that we have the opening blessing there, except for that you need to about face and go around the pillar to us the ramp that leads you to the altar. A very difficult task we you have the entire family standing directly behind you and you have to ask them to move. During the eulogy the reader is not by what we would normally call the altar the is actually on the side of the section where the family sits facing the altar instead of the guest. Exiting the building is not bad at all. But trying to exit the parking lot is a pain. In this part of town, you more likely than not, will be buried at Green Hills or Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (this is a catholic church, duh), to get to GHMP you would like to make a left and take it to Anaheim, then merge with PV Drive. But guess what direction you can not turn at the parking lot exit? LEFT. Guess which way the 110 FWY is to take to the 405 to Holy Cross? LEFT. When you lead a procession with 50 cars you will know my frustration. It can get pretty dangerous with that many cars and that much traffic on Carson St. Any ways I can go on and on about this, but I won't. On a side note the staff is really nice, that is why they got three stars and not one.

I was looking for a Catholic mass to attend in the area and found this beautiful church with a welcoming community. Would come back again!

The service on Sunday is way too long. The mass starts at 9:00am and when it ends at 10:32am it is just too long.

THIS CHURCH SAVED MY LIFE…read more Growing up, I'd go to this church with my family on special occasions, and honestly, I'd dread it and never really pay attention. When Pastor Chet started, everything changed. His energy, humor, and the way he shared God's message made it impossible for my mind to drift elsewhere. Five years ago, I went through the darkest chapter of my life. I was struggling with ongoing depression, crippling anxiety, and constant nightmares. During one service, my anxiety was overwhelming, so I closed my eyes and prayed for peace. That happened to be the day Pastor Chet invited anyone who wanted to surrender their life to Jesus to come to the front for prayer. What I experienced during that prayer is something that's hard to put into words, but it's what made me certain that Jesus is real. Not long after, I got baptized. My nightmares disappeared, my relationships began to heal, and the darkness and fear that had weighed so heavily on me no longer had the same hold on my life. I'll never be able to fully express how grateful I am for this church and for everything God has done in my life. Forever thankful.

I feel most churches are a 2 or 3 star experience the first time you go, so I would say Calvary…read moreLife did better than average. I watched about 3 sermons online about Galatians and went to visit Sunday at 8:30. It was easy to get in and we were greeted and ushered. Worship was fine but I didn't know the songs so I spent a lot of time reading the lyrics. The sermon is the most important part of a church service to me, and I found the pastor's sermon on Judging not Lest ye be Judged to be subtle and good. I had many questions, because in that same sermon he told the congregation not to model ourselves after hollywood marriages, that children shouldn't be asked what they want to eat for dinner at the grocery store (rather the parent should lead), and talked about not throwing your pearls before swine, so discernment and judgment ate different. Overall an interesting topic! Left me with a lot of questions though. I think a church can never be 4 or 5 stars until it's very clear how to plug in to activities and it's clear that new attendees are welcome. The announcements section that Sunday didn't have an invitation that I remember to plug into any new attendee events. A simple "raise your hand if this is your first time here" or something like that would be recommendable in my opinion. Looking forward to coming back! Thank you for opening your doors to the community! I like that there is a meeting at The Enclave as well. I think moving the Food Truck Fellowship event from Calvary Life to The Enclave might help bring in new attendees.

The Senior Pastor and Reverend is a really good man. If you want to know how The Branch is, here is my take. The people are good folks. Whether they truly love God or not, is a mystery to me. Because they are a church, my only assumption that I can make is that they do. The worship is okay. Its a simple guitar, bass, and drums. The worship leader Kris, is a great singer. The female lead, Becky is also a phenomenal singer. The service is held in a sanctuary that is lovely. Its pretty spacious and can hold over 250 seats, though the ministry has around about 20-25 people occupying it. The crowd is a mix of college students mixed with adults in their thirties with kids. One thing I love are the Branch kids. They are all awesome and super cool. The Pastor for the ministry is serviceable. Nothing great. Nothing terrible. Parking in the parking lot can be kinda limited but there are plenty of street parking. I wouldn't recommend going to this church, but to each their own.

We've gone through many changes, but one thing always remains-- God and His faithfulness. Another thing that's been pretty constant is our house church system.
