The church has many ministers (dance, drama/theater, men fellowship, women's ministry, youth choir etc). Cool thing about this church is they have children and nursery ministry. And they have activities for the children as well. The Way, The Church also has counseling by the Pastor and First Lady or sometime it will be with a care minister(s). There is a 9:15am class on Sunday where you can learn more about what the church believes and the Cardinal doctrine. If you do miss Sunday you can watch live from their Instagram or Facebook @thewaythechurch It isn't a all day church. Sunday's from 9:50am-11:30am. I do enjoy attending this church because I see many different age groups so you don't feel out of place.

Located on the corner of W. Carson St and adjacent to Manuel Ave, this church is conveniently located in a quieter part of Torrance and only a block away from Torrance High School. I arrived here during the afternoon of Friday 7/26/2024 at around 3:50pm. Since I did not come here to pray or worship, it was actually for a Celebration of Life funeral services for my cousin that sadly passed away two weeks prior and had lived in this area nearly her whole life. There is a dedicated parking lot that is adjacent to the church and if that is filled up, there are plenty of spaces that go into the residential areas. I will say that the church itself is beautifully decorated with ample seating that can accommodate up to a few hundred guests. The high pillars and natural light make this a truly wonderful environment while services can be rewarding to everyone attending. I did want to add that there are several restrooms that are conveniently located. But the real treat is that this church has a full-on kitchen, banquet area, and very large formal dining area which is ideal for the type of service during my visit. Finally, the pastors and staff did an amazing job catering us to a nice meal following the funeral service. All in all, "First Baptist Church of Torrance" is a well-run and flawless church that went above and beyond for each and every single one of us. If you are in the area and wish to attend their services, I highly recommend it. And the headline of their website says "Love God. Love People. Teach Others to do the Same" which sums it all up. My rating, a unanimous five stars.

However the Sunday evening service wasn't the normal worship service done on Sunday mornings. We figured this out when the pastor Glen was basically engaging attendees in conversation. For instance let's give our testimony or conversation on growing in God. We felt a little uncomfortable since we had thought this service would be a worship and sermon service typical of Sunday mornings.i am sure it was ok for people who were regular attendees but we didn't really know anyone there. My advice is first timers should probably go to Sunday morning service for a few months or longer to you get to know people then go to this one. Another thing that wasn't good was the extreme heat when we sat down. The sanctuary should have been cooled down before the service started. As a individual with health issues I would not want this to keep happening if i was attending . This is something that is unknown. Otherwise it's a blessed group of believers growing in Gods word.

As the church grew they opened one in Lomita California and Jim's partner Ben Myers took over the beautiful Christian Community there. He is just out of this world, spectacular, funny, motivating. His his wife Novia (behind every great man....)the work she does with kids! the time, the LOVE...her heart of hearts is golden and kind. She always gives to other people, she has been there for me no matter which way my life turns, she's always there she's never forsaken me, standing strongly by my side no matter what I need. She's remarkable I am so grateful to know them and be a part of BAYCITIES church. The first time I walked in the door I was nervous and I felt loved, accepted, a part of, a solid Christian Community. I now live on the island of Maui and unfortunately have not been able to find a church group that I can feel so loved accepted and part of, where I have guidance and support and love no matter what. The preaching is good, the music isn't too loud for the people with hearing aids, and I like how people are given the opportunity to take Communion every week if they choose.
