I am excited about this place. Not only did I enjoy my first appointment; but I am coming back!!…read moreMy physician really listened to me. Which was not hurried or anything. I loved that; sometimes it really feels like plug and chug with some physicians; and I understand, they are being spread thin. However; here, with my physician, I was given adequate time to explain myself, and my needs and then responded. This is really how medicine is suppose to be practiced, I swear. Bottom Line: I am going back! WOOO!!!!

Yes folks she told my then 9 year old that he will be obese because he is a tall kid but the kicker was, she is obese. She had a snotty attitude with my son for no reason it was as if she was mad at the world. After that visit my I spent the last 3 yrs trying to convince my son that what the doctor said was not true; he thinks he will be obese!! Although he does not bring it up much lately, he has never forgotten those words and speak on it from time to time. Due to not being able to get into a new clinic before his immunizations are due, we were forced to go back here. I called and made the appointment like normal, it wasn't until I took off work, hauled it to the office with my son to find out that his insurance was not reinstated (like it should have been) the snotty receptionist said it like I knew so I asked how come no one called me and told me this or told me over the phone - if you could have seen the blank stare she gave me. . . This upcoming appointment will be our last.

We started seeing Dr. Garr and our last two appointments with her have been awful. She was extremely condescending when speaking to myself and my daughter. She also told my daughter she's in danger of being overweight (Even though her BMI was totally in a healthy range!!) and went on for 15 minutes about how to lose weight. Good thing I had a mask on because my face definitely couldn't hide the way I was feeling at that moment! This is the second time we have had a poor experience with her and will be moving on from PYAM as a whole to a new clinic.

Shopping for a pediatrician is a big responsibility, so if this helps anyone, it's worth it. I…read morehave two kids, one has outgrown PYAM and one is a HS senior. You need to pick a pediatrician before you can leave the hospital with your baby. The good thing about these conglomerate clinics is that there is always someone to see your child. On the flip side, you can't always see the doctor you like when little one is sick. My best recommendation is to read the bios for the doctors in the clinic, and have at least a couple in mind for your child. If you are going in for routine visits, you can schedule them ahead of time and find out which days your fav dr is at your preferred clinic. As the clinic has expanded, there is more than one dr at a location and they are open Saturdays in some locations. As you work through the drs you can figure out who meets your expectations. There are always occasions when you don't jive with a dr but just don't see that one again! My kids each have their favorite, and luckily I wholeheartedly endorsed their picks. I have always felt I have easy access to them and they are definitely trying to keep moving forward into the future of better medicine and more options for health care. I think PYAM has fabulous pediatricians, they really care about the kids, and I have a great relationship with them also. The support staff has always been helpful and responsive when I have needed a copy of shot records or a camp letter.

After asking everyone we know with kids and doing endless research online, we selected New Kingdom and set an appointment with Dr. Reed. The nursing staff that came in to take vitals were great and knowledgeable. They were friendly as well, making us feel very welcome. The Dr Reed came in. She was fantastic. She has a wealth of knowledge of pediatrics and has years of experience and has seen it all. She would talk about how some current trend started years ago and replaced another trend that came out of another trend. We talked about a range of topics and she answered all of our questions with ease and she was very present with us - she did not at all appear as though we were annoying her or driving her crazy with all of our new parent questions. The office staff was great here, too. I highly recommend this practice.

She asked a lot of questions to understand what was going on. Gives holistic approaches to things. They are very popular (Albertville) and you usually have about a month out to get an appointment so keep that in mind. Check with your insurance to see if they are in network as well. They recently moved into a new facility so it was fairly cold in the rooms while they work on the HVAC.
