This park has so much potential. The layout and hills are very nice. If you scope out a just right spot it can be really nice to just sit. It needs a lot of work though...messed up sidewalks/road, lots of liter, grass is not cut often enough and patchy... but I look forward to the renovations that the city will make from the $30 million grant it received. I hope they start soon!!

Got to see Rufus du Sol, Sia, Asap Rocky, and LCD Soundsystem as some of the headliners (legit Lollapalooza 2025 lineup what??). It was a more laid-back music festival cus more new and less electronic music actually, there was kinda all types of music. I remember there was a dome too (I guess they called it The Lab??) where you could go inside and look up at the ceiling and lie down and it was really cool too. Daytime, outdoor, lots of people but not too crowded. I thought organizers did a great job with it and venue here at Randall's Island Park was great. You're close to NYC but at the same time it's a separate space.

This was my first time at Randall's Island. You can get to the park by car via the RFK Triborough Bridge or public transportation (M35 bus). Sometimes, events set up ferry rides. I took a ferry from E 35th Street terminal to the island. Randall's Island Park is beautiful, tranquil, nice paths for walking/jogging/biking, and well-maintained grounds. I never saw these views of Manhattan, the Bronx, and the East River. On the paths, there are giant rocks where you can sit and rest whenever you need; lots of people took a break on these rocks this weekend. Coming from Manhattan and the ferry dock, I started from the South part of the park. To get from the South part of the park to the North side, you walk under a bridge path - which is kind of the reminder that you are still in NYC. I hope to return to Randall's Island in the future to see what it's like normally and enjoy what the park has to offer.

Safe during peak times with a police presence there, particularly in the main field area. Lonelier areas throughout the park but never felt unsafe. Parking along both sides of Sheridan Blvd. wasn't to bad with people coming and going often. Kudos to those (groups/companies) responsible for building this section up. Years ago there wasn't much desireable here...but they've really built it up into a place where not only locals can enjoy, but others can come to visit...doesn't happen to much is the less desireable neighborhoods, or boroughs for that matter. Great job!

The waterside view isn't the best, as the water is stagnant and pretty dirty as the dredge is about 1000 feet ahead in the next park over: Concrete Plant Park. Needless to say, it's got a lot of greenery, and is overall peaceful. As this is a new park to the area, it's is a great area park for the neighborhood. It appears they will be expanding it to connect to other area parks in the future, like Concrete Plant park and another park to the North. I'm looking forward to seeing the Bronx River House, which will be a NYC Parks facility that will serve as a community education center and boat house for the park.

It's also quite popular for golfers who want to ferry from Wall Street since there is a Gold Course as well. The soccer fields were pretty busy with games, but still plenty of space and picnic tables with or without shade and water views. Managed to find just a couple trees that could handle a hammock which made it easy to enjoy the inside areas of the park. There's one bathroom and it was fairly well maintained- just a bit of a walk from the ferry- but close for the soccer fields and parking lot.

Honestly, unless they live here, I don't know of any people going to College Point unless it is to the big box stores on 20th Ave. I get it, you either need to bus it or drive here since there is no train/subway access. The streets are narrow and the buses are wide making it even more intimidating to venture north in Queens, which is a shame because this area is lovely with its waterfront park. The view has "the city" off into the distance, Rikers island and LaGuardia airport with its low flying planes a bit closer and you may be able to steal a glimpse of the Whitestone bridge, but nearby Powell Cove's park may be better spot for that. The park was under construction in some parts so sections were closed off, but there are nice grassy areas. Benches line the waterfront and walkways that trace it making for a nice spot to chat with a friend providing they aren't suffering from springtime allergies that is - lots of pent up pollen in them trees! A couple of pro-tips: parking is street nearby and probably not the best smelling waterfront at low tide.
