This nursing facility should be closed; I have notified the Missouri division of aging; but it…read moreshould be closed!! My dad was brought here due to it being the only facility available for rehab; his wife had heard good things about their rehabilitation program! Due to COVID-19 restrictions we could not see him fir 90 days. My brother made trips to talk to him through a window that had thick screens on the windows, so it was hard to see. We had asked to have him moved as soon as another facility opened a spot; we were notified about 75 days into his quarantine that we could move him. When we called to tell them we were having him moved they said we needed to come see him because they were going to call us about his condition?!?! I live several states away; but my brother met with them and called me and stated he was curled up in a ball and did nothing know who he was. When I arrived my father was naked in a bed with no blanket, ice cold to touch and covered in feces! I carry cleansing wipes in my purse and started to clean him, looked around the room, could not find a blanket, wash cloth, towel etc. I finally pushed his light and called for help, after 20 minutes they arrived and helped clean him. He was zippered into his room and at end of hallway, and it seemed like left to die. I gave him fluids and offered him any food I had, but I did not have much. I promised to bring him whatever I could the next day. I rubbed his feet and hands to get the feeling back in them etc. his feet, legs and hands were so dry. He did not know me initially but after hydrating him he talked and acted very normal. Granted he was there because he had a stroke and he had Parkinson's also! So it was hard for him to give himself a drink or to eat. He said the food was horrible and it was!! I tried it the next day. I arrived around 8:30 with blanket, towels, bowl, razor etc that I went and purchased and I cleaned him up for other family to see. I brought him several things to eat and drink: strawberry smoothie was the best!! I spent the whole day at the home and called the nurse at least a dozen times; they came once! They had put him on compassion care and this was why we were allowed in but they were supposed to check every 2 hours! No one, I asked fir a pitcher of water and nothing. Luckily I had bottled water! A lady did bring a lunch tray but said he did not like their food ( it was horrible). Never saw a breakfast tray or dinner tray and I was there during these times. I woke him up, they were to lazy to let us in and out so they gave us the code. Then it was easy to see what they did and did not do! My father in 2 months had lost around 50 pounds, said no one came to check on him or help him to eat. I have multiple stories I could tell; but please do not take your family to this awful place!
