I asked them to support a six-year-old, a 10-year-old and a 12-year-old for x mas bc they weren't gonna have one. which they received many donationsand I mean piles of it. I would've jumped in there and at least grabbed a toy or two or some food and helped out if I were you, I would not want to be a part of this. We also were trying to raise money for cancer research and we were gonna have a softball game. They wouldn't even let us use the field, but yet if you want to pay, they'll let you play on the baseball field I witnessed this firsthand. Sometimes you gotta look at the bigger picture before you decide where you want to worship and help out and really see what they're all about. I'm not rich and I'm still gonna help and raise money for this family.

This church does a lot of good in the community, offers a tremendous amount of outreach programs,…read moreand they pride themselves on being volunteers at every level. However when I say pride- well, I mean exactly that. As in LOTS of pride: as in too much pride, and it really hurts the church. Let me also take the time to mention that there are many good-hearted and kind people there who are members-but this is mostly by default. I say this, because if you are a Methodist, then there are only 2 choices in larger congregation Methodist Churches in Kingwood, and lately both have had their separate issues (but sadly, both have been almost equal in their divisiveness, this along with a few other very different, but let's just say, separate but equal issues!) So that being said, sadly, (and this is after attending there for several years), a lot of the members at KW United Methodist can also be incredibly judgmental, petty, arrogant and as mentioned: divisive. And if you don't volunteer your time, and pretty much everything else that you have, then they tend to judge you, because they all seem to be working very hard at trying to "outdo" each other. Maybe they are trying to get a bigger mansion in Heaven or something? I guess I just don't know...But their recent church leadership over the past 6-7 years has been very weak, and therefore they sadly seem to promote this kind of un-Christlike behavior. They have also hired some very morally questionable Directors, Worship Leaders and other music, teen etc. support staff. Unfortunately this has had some far reaching negative repercussions for their membership and the community. You may not have an issue attending there if you don't dig too deeply, however I found that attending KUMC was the kind of churchgoing experience that has given attending church and Christians, esp of late, a really bad name.

Absolutely love this church! They have been incredibly open, caring, and inviting. My son had gone…read morethrough some truly hard times, and when I reached out they were the most supportive I've ever encountered. The pastors messages are always thoughtful and engaging, love the atmosphere and the praise! No where else I've found in this area I've wanted to attend more, or felt closer to God. If there is any issueI take, it's the size of the child care is overflowing with children. Definitely a sign of a full house, not a bad thing necessarily, but I'm hoping they've opened the childcare center for the individual classes.
