They followed her around like little duckies. His current teacher, Ms. Kellye, is so wonderful! She always comes up with the cutest crafts for the kids to do and has even set up a little garden for them to grow flowers this spring! He loves Ms. Kellye and is always in the best mood after going to school. Recently, he celebrated his birthday at school and Ms. Kellye made sure to make it a very magical day for him. He was so happy at the end of the day!! Immanuel Lutheran is truly a gem in the Heights! ALL the teachers and staff know the kids by name! That is something you would not get at the bigger commercialized daycares/schools. My son has learned so much during the time he's been there not only academically but also socially. They instill kindness and politeness in their daily teachings and interactions with the kids. It has definitely paid off as my son is always saying please and thank you and shares with his friends. I also love that the class size is very small (less than 10 in his current class). I know he's getting lots of individual attention and help from the teacher and aide. The facility is very large for the area. There are 3 separate outdoor playground areas for the kids based on age. There's also a gymnasium that they use for gymnastics and other fun events. During the year, the church and school will throw huge events on certain major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter) During the last event, they set up huge bounce houses, face painting and a luncheon. These events are great because you end up meeting other parents and staff which builds a sense of community you wouldn't normally get at a big chain daycare. I would recommend Immanuel Lutheran to anyone looking for a school for their kid. This school is unlike any other in that your kid will get so much individual care and attention.

My children have been attending MLC for about a year. We are having to move out of town for work,…read moreand I am absolutely devastated about leaving. I wish we could pick up the school and move it with us. I don't even know where to begin. The entire staff is so kind, loving, and very involved with all the kids. When we ask my daughter who her best friend is, she says, "Miss Gaby & Miss Jessica." They are very strict, but in the most loving way. My daughter is very high energy and needs clear rules in order to thrive. She loves it here because she knows what is expected of her and can feel safe and comfortable because of the strict rules. My kids look forward to school every day, and I know they are learning. Our daughter tells us about her "work" all the time. It is so wonderful knowing that they aren't just playing all day long, but they are truly learning. In the summer, the kids get to swim at school 3 days a week, and throughout the year they have gymnastics & ballet. They also teach Spanish from about 2 years old. A small added bonus is the uniforms!! Getting ready every morning is so easy. I don't have to worry about having "school clothes" and other clothes, because their clothes are already picked out! :) Last but certainly not least, the safety. I have never felt more comfortable with the safety at a school before. There is absolutely no way to get to the area where the kids are, because there is a locked glass door once you walk into the foyer. The teachers are extremely strict on guests picking up your kids - one time my mom came to pick up my kids. I called Mrs. Shireen just to confirm that they would allow her to pick up and that they would check her driver's license because we were already out of town. Mrs. Shireen let me know that she would take my kids home to her own house to make sure they were safe if we were out of town and someone came to pick them up that wasn't yet on the list. We have been so impressed with this school, and I am not exagerating when I say I am devastated to be leaving. If you want a safe, fun environment where learning is of the utmost importance, it doesn't get any better than MLC. Mrs. Shireen, Miss Cindy, Miss Gaby, Miss Jessica, Miss Maria, Miss Leslie, and Miss Daisy are all absolutely amazing!!

We enrolled him when he was 1yrs old. He is happy well taken care of and so smart we couldn't be prouder. The staff that was there when my 18yr old attended is same staff my son has now.
