Its a blessing to have a such a group of teachers and staff that care about their students. You don't see this in other schools. I recently enrolled my 4 yr old in Prek 4 and I am so impressed with all she is learning. I will recommend NLA to all families regardless of their beliefs. I know that I could trust the school to keep my children safe while Im at work. Kudos to all the staff! The tuition is the lower compare to other christian/private schools in our communities. NLA is a blessing to all children and parents.

The teachers are detailed orientated and truly teach the kid lessons early on that they will need to be successful as they progress through 8th grade and beyond. I would say that the teachers and school higher ups over communicate what is happening at the school and in the classroom. This is defiantly not the case when I talk to family friends that send their child to a public school in the area. The school has a buddy program where a preschooler is matched up with a 4th or 5th grader which creates cohesion and respect throughout the levels of the school. My experience is my child getting high fives and fist bumps leaving school rather than bullying. The community of the school is tight-nit with parents that are very welcoming of new families. Families are given many opportunities to give back through service and build new relationships through events. We are a very happy family with Queens and put our trust in the school with our son which is our #1 priority.

CCLC has amazing staff. We had our son enrolled in CCLC at 4 months until he was 2 and a half, and only left because we moved out of state. The facilities there are also great. The classrooms are clean and organized, and the facilities are spacious as they have a gym and chapel in addition to all the classrooms. They also have a great playground outside, and are intentional about not staying indoors all the time. We can't recommend this place enough. A true home away from home for our son.

From the moment we enrolled, I could see how much the staff truly cares about the children. The environment is warm, welcoming, and filled with love and attention. I enrolled my daughter during Covid--- probably one on the scariest moments we experienced collectively, in this world. However I was greeted, at CCLC in a way that reassured me that "Everything would be alright". Fast forward to today... five years later, we have 2 children enrolled and the experience is the same! CCLC is our family. They are the village every family needs. The teachers are not only professional but also passionate about their work. They create a balance of learning, fun, and exploration through age-appropriate activities that encourage development, both socially and academically. I love seeing the progress my children have made, from learning new words to building important friendships with peers. What I appreciate most is the clear communication from the staff. They keep me updated on my children's day, whether it's a milestone they've reached, a challenge they've faced, or just a note about how their day went. This level of care and transparency reassures me that my child is in great hands. I highly recommend CCLC to any parent looking for a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for their child(ren). It's truly a place where children thrive, and I'm so thankful for the wonderful team who helps my child grow each day."

At the time when we were touring different preschools, we had a few good options in the Lincoln Park/North Center area. However, when we walked into Prairieland, there was something about it that immediately made us feel that it was the right place for our daughter. The staff maintains a culture that really does feel like a little community-focused family. They teach the kids to work through their problems (Montessori style) while also teaching them to be respectful both by their words and their actions. Our daughter loved going to the wide array of summer field trips that included the Chicago History Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and more. It kind of felt like a summer camp more-so than the school year. We really do feel our daughter developed into a better version of herself by being enrolled at Prairieland and the school has set her up for success as she starts elementary school.

Our son is challenged and thriving academically, as well as nurtured emotionally. The co teaching model is amazing and special. 2 certified teachers in a class of 24 students max. They also have learning specialists that are able to help children if they need a little extra assistance but they do it in a fun way so the kids do not view as a negative. In fact my son loved his small group time with the reading specialist. We love that they have Spanish twice a week, as well as very strong academics across the usual subjects including STEM. We love their student lead conferences because it teaches students public speaking skills in front of their parents in which they can present what they have been working on. After the "presentation" then the parents have opportunity to speak to teachers in the more traditional private format. We are not religious and feel that the religious aspect of the school is not overwhelming but rather teaches good morals and ethics. The community is amazing! It really is a small school in a big city with a family feel. The teachers are also very responsive when parents reach out. They have before & after school care. We often sign up for enrichment classes after school which have been great. They have ranged from stem, yoga and chess. Many graduates continue high school at high ranked Catholic schools like St Ignatius AND the #1 ranked high school in Illinois Walter Payton. We originally looked at Lincoln Elementary (CPS), St Clements, Catherine Cook and FXW but chose ICSJ for the reasons above. It may not have the big name factor of some other schools but I would definitely check out this hidden gem because it's an incredible school!
