Principal is unqualified; has poor management skills, spends $90,000 in title 10 (low income child aid) funds on her son in law who is an extra "couselor" there. Dr. Ayala has been investigated by the Dept of Justice for misusing ESL funds (she had her cronies cover for her, so she never ended up in court). The school hands out "A" grades and diplomas to kids who don't show or do work. She covers up the drop out rate by saying students are moving back to Mexico. This is just scratching the surface, overall she is a typical Chicago style political appointment hired to do a job because she is a latina and a woman. She is so illiterate she has teachers write her statement for the yearbook because she can barely communicate in English (or Spanish for that matter). She is creating a culture of weakness and expectations that everything will be handed to you -for the local latino community. It's a shame. There used to be good teachers there, but one by one they are being replaced with yes men. Overall the atmosphere at the school is a free-for-all, with student tardy rates at about 5/day, every day, for 5 minutes or more for about 90% of students. There are huge fights in and out of schools, plenty of gang representation that goes unchecked and overcrowding in the classrooms. No need to worry about academics, as grades are always being changed and credits given. Their Special Ed program is a sham, with the aides working every period in the office as her personal servants. This is a good example of how dumping millions into a school and pandering to the ethnicity of its LSC, students, parents and neighborhood results in a babysitting service that hands out H.S. diplomas with no requisites for graduation resulting in a bunch of illiterate disfunctional adolescents who have less than a 20% chance of graduating from a university.
