While I can't speak to the other reviews, our son started MCS for Kgarten, and absolutely loved it. The teachers are incredible, and show so much dedication and care for the children. There are so many children with diverse needs...and they are all supported. The MCS families are close and build a sense of community. We also deeply appreciate the service driven mindset (appreciation for veterans, focusing on ones community, Boy Scouts program, family focused school events) and Christian values MCS focuses on. Further, the faculty really support a child's academic growth. The classes sizes are much more intimate than a public school but still large enough to have plenty of socialization and new friends to make. MCS has a balanced approached. It is very true...Mariners focuses on the "whole" child as opposed to purely academics. Frankly, everyone we've meet at MCS has been great, and the kids/parents agree. Thank you.

This place is all about money and intense competitions. The era of AI will eliminate these corrupted educations, absolutely bring no values to the kids. I hate to admit this, but when I compare the way Pegasus first graders interact during free play to the way his public school friends interact, I see a dramatic difference. Pegasus kids are problem solvers; they calm conflicts and seek solutions. Maybe it's a selection bias at the admissions level, but in the end, who cares? Unfortunately, we have had several disappointing experiences. My younger brother is Hispanic, and the majority of his teachers and classmates are Caucasian. Last year, we experienced a situation where a teacher made remarks toward him that we felt were racially insensitive. I had to send emails addressing my concerns, and thankfully, the remarks stopped. However, it was upsetting that we had to deal with this in the first place. Another issue has been the lack of communication. I've reached out to the principal and assistant principal regarding different concerns and received little to no response. The athletic department is no different. Communication has been poor, especially when it comes to basketball. Last year, the basketball coaches were replaced, and I had concerns about the new coaches' basketball knowledge and experience. I offered to volunteer my time because I have basketball experience and genuinely wanted to help the students. Unfortunately, nobody followed up with me, while another parent was allowed to help coach. I don't know the reason behind that decision, but considering our previous experiences, it did raise concerns about fairness and equal treatment. Something else that bothered me happened at last year's basketball banquet. A parent who was also coaching was handing out awards and certificates and made a comment about how everyone should pray for the previous coach because he really needed Jesus. I personally felt that was unnecessary and inappropriate. Why single someone out like that? The truth is, we ALL need Jesus. We all need grace, mercy, compassion, forgiveness, and love. I'm a sinner myself, in need of a Savior and repentance, just like everyone else. I don't believe a student basketball banquet was the appropriate place to make a comment like that about someone. I also encourage parents to look into the news reports involving serious sexual abuse allegations against a former wrestling coach associated with the school. These are serious matters, and parents deserve transparency when it comes to student safety. I'm sharing this because I believe accountability matters, especially within Christian schools. We should be setting an example of Christ's love through our actions, not just our words. Nobody is perfect, but communication, respect, fairness, and compassion should be the bare minimum. I truly hope the school improves in these areas. Parents and students deserve to feel heard, respected, and safe. At the end of the day, that's all we're asking for.
