Instead of protecting students, certain staff members contributed to an environment where bullying and emotional abuse were ignored--or worse, encouraged. When issues were brought to the attention of teachers or administrators, they were often dismissed, minimized, or turned back on the student. Some staff spoke in demeaning, sarcastic, or intimidating ways, which made students feel unsafe and powerless. Rather than intervening, adults in authority sometimes sided with aggressors or treated students as if they were the problem for speaking up. The lack of accountability was extremely damaging. Policies against bullying seemed to exist only on paper, with little to no follow-through. Students were left feeling unheard, anxious, and afraid to attend school. A school should be a place of learning and growth, not fear. Until this institution takes real responsibility, provides proper training for staff, and genuinely listens to students, it fails to meet even the most basic standards of care and safety.

During my 3 day visit, I interacted with various students, staff, and faculty and was thoroughly impressed with how welcoming the campus was and how much everyone enjoyed being around each other. Students spoke so highly of the love and care they felt from their teachers and administrators. Faculty and staff spoke frequently about how much the team felt like a family. A few common themes among the parents I spoke with were how safe the campus was, the administration's approachability, and the absolute trust they placed in the teachers and their students. Mr. Aaron and his team have done a wonderful job creating a school environment where students can thrive, love like Jesus, and learn well, and I highly recommend this school!

In the daycare, they diligently log everything via an app and send photos of the baby playing happily. They have music development and lots of educational Montessori toys. The women working there are so happy and kind, and clearly care a lot about all of the children. They have great ratios of caregivers to babies and whenever we do drop off, it's clear the babies all feel safe and are (reasonably) calm. They are baby magicians - our son slept better at school than at home for naps! They have been great about letting us know about any issues (rashes, bumps) and have been incredibly kind about his food allergies. They have been very diligent to protect our son and were amazingly inclusive for the class party to make sure he would be safe. We know our baby is in amazing hands! Our preschool age son also has a lot of fun at school. They have been very patient with him as our potty-trained child suddenly refused to go to the bathroom. Ms. Ramirez spends one-on-one time with each child to ensure they are learning. It's great to see the Montessori techniques in action as they work on math and shapes! The admin is highly communicative and also kind and very creative. Mrs. Teel regularly hosts fun seasonal events for the kids which they all enjoy. It's a lot to manage a daycare and a school, and she makes it look effortless. It's amazing to me what a wonderful community she's built and our family is so grateful to be a part of it.

We enrolled our 10-month-old daughter here, and within two months she came home with a fractured arm. The school said nothing when we picked her up -- just a vague mention of her being fussy. It wasn't until our pediatrician took X-rays that we learned the truth. What broke my heart wasn't just the injury -- it was her first birthday spent in a cast. As her mother, I will never forget that. When we asked for answers, there was no security footage to review because the cameras had apparently been removed months earlier. No accountability. No transparency. Nothing. Four years later I still think about it. I hope this school has since made real changes -- better vetted teachers, cameras restored, and proper incident reporting. Every child deserves that. Every mother deserves to feel her baby is truly safe. I'm posting this because I'd want another mom to warn me.

Our 6 year old goes to Newport Elementary and then the after school instructors pick her up at school and walk her over for camp. It works out so well. We did Active Kids in Newport Beach and tried the YMCA after-school program and they were pretty terrible, so we were thrilled when we found Christ Church by the Sea. After just a week at this after-school program our son said he liked this one even better than After School All-Stars, which really surprised me. Their facilities are outstanding. They have a large playground, a lot of toys, bunny rabbits, a caring staff, and they keep the groups very small. They do homework with the child and when they do pickup they have informally asked the teacher about my child's progress, which is great. It shows how personalized the program is. They have a very structured program and it is great for my child. I was a little bit concerned at first since we aren't Methodist so let me address this here. In a nutshell, this program is for everyone and not just people who share methodist beliefs. They are warm and caring. We're Christian, and we wouldn't mind at all if they talked about God more, but they really don't push religion very much. They have two short sessions with a pastor every month which largely consists of singing faith-based songs to guitar music. I think this is probably a good thing since it won't make any of the kids feel ostracized if they aren't religious. My child asks questions about Jesus to the staff all the time--and they love it. They will answer his questions and get almost giddy when he asks questions about Jesus. So the religious aspect is there for the kids seeking it out, but I don't think anyone who doesn't share their religious beliefs feel a bit uncomfortable. Everyone we've seen--including the pastor--is female (for what its worth).
