Loved MCS. Could not have found a more caring environment for my daughter. The faculty were the best.

Her having Mr Mike Hurley mentoring and being skilled in showing care , emphatic ways of helping her in her learning was so noticeable in my granddaughter.. Which changed her thinking of school so much to knowing she's talented and able to accomplish great things in her journey of education like no teacher I've seen .. Her confidence expanded in learning . Plus there was no fear in her and seen greatly due to his ways how he taught and showed great concern daily .. Thank you for this blessing for not only my granddaughter but other students leaving Davis spreading their wings for life's accomplishments...‍‍

We had a teacher (Mrs. Ramos) yelling at my child after hearing a rumor (refugee) something that happened when she wasn't around. We saw this while we were in line to pick our child up. Our child has emotional autism and she was aware of that, but instead she choose to yell at him in front of the other kids and made him cry. We had to call the principal to no avail as she was just as useless (Mrs Deboom) as the teacher. This teacher has the nerve to ask us the next day if we spoke to the principal like it was her best friend. Good news, there is karma as this teacher broke her foot the next week during a field trip and this principal is leaving this year! There is a God! You owe my child an apology Mrs. Ramos! Until then my review of you will stay up! Furthermore, this principal does nothing about bullying. Hopefully, the new principal does! On a side note, I don't believe this so called LOTTERY is actually a lottery. We personally met a child who just arrive here from Ukraine (refugee) get into 4th grade at this school on his first try. Doubt they know about Davis in the Ukraine or its lottery! He ended up leaving after 1 year to another state. That could have been your child in that space.

I asked every question I could think of, from how they handle sickness to how teachers are supported, and I observed everything from class ratios to daily routines. We visited several schools, but ultimately chose Frontiers, and I'm so glad we did. The difference was clear: attrition among instructors was low, and my son's teacher had been there for many years. To me, happy teachers = happy kids. From the start, the staff were warm, communicative, and professional. I've been consistently impressed by their attention to detail, safety standards, and how thoughtfully they care for each child. Beyond the nurturing environment, the academics are truly top-notch. It's a trilingual school so teaches in English, Spanish, and Mandarin. The curriculum is rigorous; I love that my son is being challenged intellectually while also building confidence, creativity, and curiosity. What gave me peace of mind is knowing my child is not only in a stable environment but also one where learning is engaging, meaningful, and sets a high bar. Communication has been excellent--I always feel in the loop. I've seen firsthand that the children are thriving, not only in Spanish or Mandarin but in all aspects of their development. If you're a parent who values stability, honesty, safety, and outstanding academics in a school culture where teachers are genuinely happy--Frontiers stands out. It checked every box on my list.

During spirit week on decades day I was told I should've came to school in rags with whip marks on my back and shackles on wrists and ankles. (I was one of 3 black students in all of high school). Daily i endured casual racist comments and jokes from classmates. For example, many comments were made regularly involving the words 'monkey' and 'watermelon'. One student in particular would make monkey sounds around me and send me monkey emojis. God forbid it was black history month. There are kids that attend this school that would hesitate to say a cuss word, but have no problem at all saying the n-word. When my mom made the principal kevin cyprian aware of the situation his response was and i quote 'this is a serious situation and i am going to have to think long and hard about how to handle this.' long story short nothing was ever done. The trauma, the discomfort, and the misery that I endured during my time at ncs still affects me to this day. If I could go back i would have done everything in my power to attempt to get expelled just to be free of this place. The lack of professionalism and basic human respect to be found in this school not only by its principal, but by its faculty and students as well, is utterly mind blowing. Another instance I can describe to you that made me uncomfortable as a 7th grader is when I was in an english teachers class(not mrs cavin she was the only good thing to come out of ncs) and a joke was made by a student. I was laughing, as was the entire class, yet the teacher turned to me and began berating me for laughing so hard telling me I was loud and embarrassing and there was no reason i should be laughing so hard. Another instance that stuck out to me is in 5th grade when me and my best friend were targeted for 'poor behavior' (we were 10 year old talkative kids). To the point that i remember being pulled into the classroom while the rest of the class waited outside with no supervision while mr cyprian fully yelled at me and my best friend for our 'unacceptable behavior'. Now that I am older, as a grown ass adult there is absolutely no reason that calls for yelling at a CHILD. I was separated from my best friend and isolated for weeks i was not allowed to play at recess for literally no valid reason. I was also in the worst time of my personal life and the school was more than aware of my circumstances. Yet I was still treated like shit and targeted everyday for simply attempting to lay low and survive the worst most detrimental years of my life. I developed severe anxiety from this environment that still affects me as a 20 year old. It was overall one of the most insufferable experiences of my life and you could not pay me any amount of money in the world to relive it. In an environment where I was supposed to be safe, loved, and learn I felt more than unsafe, disrespected, and targeted for simply existing. When it comes to the title of 'christian' this school is not that. Never was i shown any amount of dignity mercy or respect. Try to consider what it is like for a black child to essentially grow up in an environment with a lack of diversity and be reminded you are the only black student around every second of the day. Another interesting topic i would like to bring up is the casual sexism. For years I was forced to wear skirt daily whether it was raining or windy. They would like to tell themselves that this is because a skirt is 'more modest' than pants. That is a lie. Countless times skirts would fly up.There is no way we are going to sit here and pretend like that rule was an attempt at 'modesty'. This school genuinely prioritized whether not you wore a skirt and if it was long enough, over the safety and well being of their students. It took me escaping this environment to recognize that nothing about this place is normal in any way shape or form. If you are a parent reading this please save your child the pain and misery and enroll them elsewhere, especially if your child is of color. To the faculty and staff of ncs, do better and advocate for your black students and other students of color if you claim not to be racist. To kevin cyprian specifically, you do not deserve any amount of respect thrown your way. DO BETTER.
