Was there early December 2024 on a Friday night , all restaurants/bars were closed except the casino bar. luckily was accompanied by family members and friends so i was going to have a good time regardless. But i felt that some of the casino staff came off as a bit racist unfortunately. For being a small town i was impressed that the casino is as big and elegant as it is. Disappointed with this place. Sports bar was closed, had to watch Sunday night football through the steel fence. Couldn't buy a drink in the casino and take it out to watch the game. Casino is very small, smells like a hundred people smoking cigars. No video poker even though they advertise video poker. read more

This casino has been newly remodeled. There are new eateries, bathrooms, and nice new entrance. We like playing craps and they have craps here but it's only a half a table. Not quite the same effect as rolling on a regular size table. Staff was fun and friendly. A bit smokier than I'd like but it's a casino. Parking was easy. read more

This was my first time visiting St. Joe, Missouri. We were here visiting my husband's parents and when he told me that the Casino in town was a riverboat I was all excited thinking this place was going to be really cool.... Total let down. It was so small, the slot machines were terrible and the staff had very poor attitudes. NOTHING like the casinos I am accustomed to living an hour away from Foxwoods. When we first went in the first thing you smell through the WHOLE place is ciggerette smoke(and yes I am a smoker but holy heck is was bad). The place is a small casino. No buffet, Bathrooms were clean. Both eating places seemed nice except gonna smell musty cigg smoke the whole time. I had a MAJOR issue with getting through the casino in my wheelchair - the isles was so slender that I COULD NOT get through without everyone sitting getting up holding chairs forward just so I could get through. We stayed maybe 40min and started to get a headache from the smell alone and with me not being able to get through we just decided to leave- shame cause that was a major thing on my list to do while in St. Joseph... Food is just terrible,buns are buttered but not grilled. Tenderloin was undercooked,asked for fries a little crispy instead we got them raw!I called to complain no management available left message with name and phone number asked for them to call me they never did. The machines are tight Drinks are expensive also I would the the casino it's self only 1 star Now the reason I'm giving the place 5 stars is the employees at the buffet Our server Britney was amazing !!! Super friendly and attentive not to mention she is 8 1/2 months pregnant she also was working as bartender And another employee I want to mention is Tiffany She noticed an elderly man who didn't look well found out he was diabetic so she helped him to his table and offered to get him a plate of food Now if that isn't customer service over the top then I don't know what is !! Hats off to both of the young ladies As for the buffet it is small and not a huge selection of food but everything was fresh and hot very tasty and they even had rare prime rib which is hard to find at a buffet Salad bar is fairly large and desserts were very good ! This is a small casino and they don't have quite as much of the ticketing technology that I'm used to at the Kansas City casinos, but they have a good variety of machines (just fewer quantity). It's a little tight, but we still had a good time and left with more money than we showed up with. read more

Went to casino for my birthday and me and my boyfriend ate at the buffet, first we were seated which was bad had a nice server, got our food it was dry and old Tasting, we didn't stay long asked for the check, I had my boyfriend wait at the table so I could get change for the tip , paid the bill left the tip on the table left, my boyfriend noticed he left his phone there so he went back an got it, to make a long story short they accused him of Walking out on the bill had the police there who put him in hand cuffs embarrassed him in front of all the people there, after 10 mins they let him go because they found the video footage of me paying, The food was disgusting an so was there way of handling the situation! I've been hear a few times and I'll tell you this I will never go back. Now black jack is my game so when I go there I play black jack. Now this last time I was there the first dealer I had was a very sweet nice young lady who made my time playing the game very fun. After they switched her out and I got a older women, as the dealer, and that's when the problems began. I was a smoker, at the time and the whole time I was smoking, she just kept making comments about my smoke, and every one else's. Every 5 mins she just keep saying how much the smoke, bugged her and several times requested me to put out my cigaret. Now every time I told her no I'm the customer and it's my right to smoke. But long story short this women just completely ruined my time and and any chances of me coming back. Last but not lest they kept changing out dealers every 15-20 mins like clock work it gets really old when then just keep changing dealers like that. You get a good dealer and they just change here with some one else all the time. read more

Went to the buffet on steak and shrimp night and it was excellent! Great food and very clean. Had fun in casino afterward and found my favorite machine. Hadn't been here for awhile and had a great visit! Just wish I could have eaten more at the buffet! Will definitely be back! read more

Had dinner at St. Jo Frontier Casino on 2/27/2016 around 3:00 p.m. Upon walking into the facility there was a very strong smell of cigarettes and in the restaurant. I was told this was drift from the Casino part which was in a different building. An employee said they spray Fabreeze, but it doesn't help to which I agreed. There was only one other table of 4 and our table of 4. The ONLY good thing was the salad bar. We ordered steaks, medium and requested just a little pink inside. They were RAW. Barely room temperature. The steak was a dark maroon raw color inside, and light gray on the outside but there was no blood? Really weird!!! They didn't look like they had been cooked at all but just brushed with some oil to look like they had been cooked. I think they were pickled in the marinade. To say the least we didn't eat but a couple of bites and took it home and tried to recook them. They were nasty and had a funny wang taste so were trashed. The fries were not browned at all and room temperature and had a raw potato taste. I honestly think the fries had been thawed the day before and just put on the plate without cooking them. The only dish that was good was the fish and chips, but it was barely warm. The hushpuppies were cold and burned. The server didn't offer to do anything for us. The hostess did make a call for a manager when we paid our bill but she said they never answer. Do NOT plan on eating there again. TOTAL waste of $81. They also ran an extra $10 on my bill. They say the tips are run separately and it will fall off but I'll check and make sure. I don't think so as I work at a bank and I know the process. But I will follow up on that. I am from Saint Joseph MO. I have moved near Omaha a few months back but still frequented the casino while in town visiting family. After I put in a change of address this casino has stopped sending me mailings. Sad since I have been probably over 1000 times and have dropped several thousands in this establishment. When I called to complain about not recieving mailings (Because their contact us page on thier website does not work) they said the lady I spoke with (stephanie) said she would speak to her boss (Nora) and would get back with me. I never recieved a return call. Every time I have called since and asked to speak to (Nora) I have been transferred to voicemail. Considering the number of times I have been and the amount of $ I have spent there I consider their lack of efforts on this matter very disrespectful and to be very poor customer service. If traveling through or local and considering your options, I would advize making the extra hour trip to KC to a casino that will treat its guests with a little more respect. read more
