I've never been one to do CBD anything, but if you wake up at 3:30am and can't go back to sleep b/c if you lay down your neck may break...you'll try anything. However, I thought I should help myself a little bit more by adding salve to my neck rubs I've been instructed to do. I pass this place every day and finally had a reason to go in. Yall, I got the CBD salve for neck and joints, and it's working my neck out! The owner was super knowledgeable and helpful. She made me a convert. They have all types of things for ailments and enhancements. Go and get stuff.. I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you get.

Donna Troy Cleary is less than one-month old in this neighborhood, but her herbal lineage is…read morethousands of years old, as she descends from Celtic healers on both sides of her family. In addition to being a certified herbalist, she's a RN, a fiber artist, a mother and a grandmother. The story of her development is truly inspiring so you should just drop in to ask her about it, especially if you are wondering how to give yourself the permission to fully acknowledge the dimensionality of your life. Because yes: you can work your day job, pursue crafts, garden, have wonderful relationships, volunteer, lean into running marathons, learn a new language, get serious about starting that organic vegan hot pockets food truck idea, etc. Whatever it is that you do, let Donna hold space for the fullness of your life, with some useful, organic and well-priced herbal healing. Maybe you need some herbal tea as a thirst quencher or as medicine; or hand-crafted CBD balm to ease muscle soreness or as pain management; or perhaps some tincture for a dry, scratchy throat; or a bunch of calendula to make a soothing summertime drink that cools your system? Yup. All of that can be found in this deceptively tiny shop that stocked to hilt as any apothecary should be but don't expect a dark little store with midnight blue velvet drapes, a selection of wands, a bubbling cauldron, crystal balls and butterbeer lol. (All the herbal majik--aka formulas that truly work and are way better for your body than Advil or Pepto Bismol--is crafted elsewhere ;) Instead, you'll walk into an airy, duplex space that feels light and fresh, with open shelves stocking large jars of dried herbs, flowers, seaweeds, plant materials, arranged by color and texture--Donna says that this is the artist in her--that invites the shopper to get pulled in by her curiosity. Herbal folks who know what they want will appreciate that everything is easy to find and because Donna is right there to answer any questions. I was thrilled to find the calendula I needed for my favorite summertime drink and even more so to learn that it was grown upstate. Donna shared that when she's not sourcing directly from small organic farms, she's personally harvesting herbs for her formulations and bulk offerings. Spiral Herbal Remedies used to live in SOHO but since the shop relocated to its Washington Ave spot, (Get Donna to tell you the story of how the splendid old oak tree anchored right in front of the shop is a Celtic symbol symbol of healing that called to her to rent this spot. Goosebumps. Seriously.), the store's stock list is committed to serving its Caribbean and diverse neighborhood's needs. This means lots of Irish Moss (pls note the Celtic connection), imported directly from Jamaica, which is not just for enhanced boom chika bow wow, but also for congestion/mucous and holds anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. Irish Moss is also super amazing for dry skin and for skin conditions ranging from eczema to psoriasis. I also saw huge jars of turmeric, and rose petals, etc. easily made into beauty treatments and/or used as driving flavors in Indian, Bangladeshi, Persian, Ethiopian, Latinx cuisines. Bonus: Spiral stocks a few products not made in-house but by local neighborhood crafters and other niche herbalists. Check out the lovely candles (with embedded dried flowers and crystals) and soothing herbal goats' milk soap, too, for yourself and those you love. Finally, Spiral Herbal Remedies has a charming cafe table set up out front where you can take a load off and have a little rest. I love this gesture to the neighborhood best. Maybe I'll see you hanging out there there I swing by next!

Dr. Fu is knowledgeable, and compassionate, and maintains dignity for her patients at all times. I have had eczema since I was a small child, and every now and again under certain circumstances; either I have indulged in too many sweets, or the weather is too cold, or my microbiome is out of whack, or I am just stretched to capacity, and my immune system is vulnerable I end up with a severe flare. In just a few treatments the inflammation was down, and the eczema was gone. I love the way I feel like my body is getting just a little stronger with each visit, and that my functionality improves more and more. I love everything about how I feel after being treated by Dr. Fu, and her son Cory - the craft is definitely passed through the lineage. When my husband got pneumonia for the first time in his life, I went to Dr. Fu & Cory because I believed they could definitely contribute to his recovery, and they did not disappoint! If you are new to acupuncture I believe Dr. Fu is hands down the best place to start, and if you are looking for a skilled healer who understands how to address your anatomy and physiology into optimization ~ Dr. Fu is the real deal.

Iron and vitamin supplements brought her health back. dr Fu is the type who is a hammer that sees every patient as a nail. She is willing to go above and beyond your wellness needs. I recently stopped in the shop as I saw a post on Facebook advertising a batch of Elderberry gummies would be available the following day. Although I had never had Elderberries before, I needed to get my hands on these as my son and I have been getting over our colds and they just seem to be lingering and never really going away. I thought these could do just the trick. When I jumped in the car, I snacked on 3 of them. Maybe it's all in my head...but it's been a good 30 minutes now since and I feel pretty awesome.

The last two times I entered this store the staff was very unfriendly and not knowledgeable or helpful at all. I encountered a very unpleasant guy with an attitude that told me "there's no such thing as B6 ma'am." Okay... then he went to Google it and came back and announced that "oh yeah" there is a B6. Thank you for that. Yesterday a woman asked me if I needed help, and I asked if they carried Caralluma Fimbriata, which she replied "I never heard of that, did you check Whole Foods or Trader Joe's". And then followed me around the store while I went to grab a supplement that I normally take (Astaxanthin) she stood over me while I examined the bottle and it was priced double what I normally pay. The other two employees young men, were having a fight with rubber bands and when I needed to actually be rung up both disappeared as did the woman. I waited for a few minutes until someone emerged. I won't be going back.

I had to replenish my pumped muscles with some high quality BRO-TEIN! This Vitamin Shoppe is similar to other locations with pretty much the same shelves of merchandise and layouts. It's actually a large square space for this location. They had just what I needed in the fridge. Nice cold cans of muscle growing BRO-TEIN! Counter help and staff here were ok. No straws to give me with my drink so I downed it like an animal. Some items are even on sale so be sure to check out what's in stock. As with all of these shops it is well organized with all kinds of vitamins and powders. Be sure to join their rewards club to get occasional deals and coupons in the mail and email. The BRO-TEIN filled my muscles as it was my breakfast. Now on to second breakfast. Cool story BRO!
