That was a nice touch, extra service. The prices are not the cheapest but they have some really nice items, and as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for, quality is not cheap. There is some street parking on the road right in front of the store, there are also some paid parking garages nearby. It is also a short walk over to the ocean from here. Why I waited so long, I don't know. It's definitely a steep trek down, and the stairs can be a bit slippery, so hold on. Once you get down, you will see an amazing view of La Jolla Cove. I spent more time than I should trying to pick a candle. The friendly cashier told me the story behind the local candle maker. I loved the story and being able to support local businesses! You will find cards, knickknacks, great stocking stuffers and fun gifts in this store. Prices run hire than normal. But I think it's worth your buck!

I asked him if he could discount it he told me if I wanted it bad enough take it home and clean it up myself and pay full price. Then started laughing at me when I asked him if he felt that was a reasonable response. I really wanted to walk out and leave it! Should have but my daughter was bawling it was last one and wed been looking for a squeaky seal. I paid for it and He was stumbling and dropped the change on the ground and was stumbling to pick it up. Then he jumped on the phone to tell someone the ignorant customer he had to deal with before we were even gone. I hope the rest of La Jolla isn't like this :( I hope the owner is able to speak to the employees because it's otherwise a super cute shop :(

I feel so satisfied when I go into the store. They're always wonderful ideas that I walk away with, and something for every budget. I'm still considering one of the Buddhas from my recent visit. And dozens more inside. -if you break it you buy it. -must leave your backpack at the front counter. -young visitors must be with an adult while in the store. -no food or drink. -you will be arrested if you shoplift. -all activities monitored by close circuit, television and undercover security -credit card processing fee 3% (Jackhole policy btw) -no pets within 10 feet of the front door -no smoking in the building - no public restroom ( so you want people to shop and spend money, but if they have to take a pee, they can't do it?! Jerks) -etc etc blah blah blah Many other stores in town appreciate business but don't leave such a horrible first impression with so many signs as you enter. Treating customers like this doesn't make them feel welcome. The kids and I quickly left. There is an indoor (wooden) dance floor but most people prefer to be outside on the tile. There is also a bar set up - and a plastic dome (for who or what?). Restrooms are downstairs by the arcade. I have been past it several times but did not know it was there. The store is small but they have plenty of different styles and sizes of high quality Swiss chocolates. We got to try it last weekend as part of a Mystery picnic experience. The person working at the counter grabbed our to go package and asked some questions, we let her know it was part of the picnic, and she said she had also done the picnic, but down in Coronado. She told us about the shop, the chocolates, about some of the different packages, etc. The chocolates were decadent, rich, sweet and delicious. Our package came with a few different types.
