Moved down to New Orleans this August, and needed a school for all three of my children (4th, 2nd,…read moreand PK). We chose St. Paul's because we wanted a school that was small enough that it offered a family environment school where everyone would know our children, but large enough to offer a variety of extracurricular's. My 4th grader and 2nd grader have 12 kids in their class (24 total for the grade). Both have participated in a strong Robotics program, soccer, chess, and minecraft/programming courses. All three children have quickly made friends at the school, which was important for our transition. One story that illustrates the culture of the school. I had to drop something at the office one day, and as I was leaving one of the cafeteria workers stopped me. She knew which children I was the father of, and wanted to let me know that all of my kids seemed to be settling in nicely. She noted that my middle child was a picky eater, but that they had figured out how he liked his food and that he started to eat with no problems. There were a lot of teachers who left. I have seen classroom videos of kids fighting and using language that no Christian school should allow. The teachers do not even seem to be surprised. I attended a couple of parent meetings for trips that had been scheduled and I felt as if no planning had gone into the meeting and it was a waste of my time. I believe the school needs an overhaul from the top down.

She is the head of student life and leadership development. After our first visit, because of her, we knew this was the school for our kids. She immediately took them under her wing and got them involved in student leadership. The administration cares about the kids. The teachers all strive to help our children succeed and excel academically and in life. I was really impressed that the entire staff and student body went on a retreat for two days at the beginning of the school year. It shows they are truly invested in our kids lives.
