Great childcare option in the Baton Rouge area…read more Perfect solution for the working professional like myself that needs a daycare that opens early and stays open late. Looking forward to having more children to send their way!

I have two children that have been at Southside for three years now and I can honestly say that…read morethis is the best, hands down, childcare service in Baton Rouge. Southside has great child to teacher ratios and I absolutely LOVE having a professional chef serving food to my kids. I have used LSU's daycare and their staff were not nurturing or respectable at all to my kids! They didn't provide the 'care' that I needed my children to have while I was at work. Southside's staff is so friendly, I feel safe leaving my child at Southside. Also Southside's owner is a sweetheart, and she really knows her way around the childcare business. I HIGHLY recommend that you check this place out, you owe it to yourself (and your kid). The quality of care at this daycare Is incomparable, this truly is the best childcare service in Baton Rouge and I recommend this place if you are looking for a childcare service in the Baton Rouge area. "Amazing mother's day out program & preschool". My daughter began her schooling here when she was…read more2 years old (3 years ago). Me and my husband were impressed from the moment we set foot in the door and were warmly welcomed by the school's director. She gave us a tour of the school, while in session, so we got to see which class our daughter would be in and how the structure of the day would be. For the first 2 years, she stayed home with me so this was going to be a great way to not only add structure but allow for some socialization with other children. She started at Mother's Day Out just 2 days/week (Tues & Thurs) from 9am - 1pm and was great. On the first day, she went in like a champ, no crying and no fighting me when getting out of the car. Her teachers were the sweetest (2 teachers for Mother's Day Out" and she absolutely loved them, too! The first year in school was a success! There was religious teaching and music class, too! Now, onto her 2nd year in school as a 3-year old. A new teacher, (just one this time), but now, in addition to religious teaching and music, PE was now part of the curriculum. Additionally, parents got to participate in classroom parties and her class got to take part in the Christmas and end-of-year program. This was a 3-day/week program and she enjoyed it very much because she had friends there from the previous year that she already made in addition to the new ones! The day was from 9am - 11:45am and the option to stay for lunch bunch until 1pm. Her 3rd and final year there was pre-school and art was also added to the curriculum. A new director was in place, who already knew the kids because she was teacher there... it was a smooth transition for everyone! She truly loved school and was going 5 days/week. Each day she looked forward to school and wanted to spend the day with her friends. Was this the beginning of the end for me of her no longer wanting to spend time with mommy? That was not the case at all! It was so great to see her so happy to attend school and listen to her tell me all about her day, when she got in the car! This school was top-notch! I would recommend this to any parent(s) looking for a Mother's Day Out Program and/or a Preschool Program. Ask for a tour... they would love to give it to you! Carpool - they take the kiddos out of car for you - to prevent separation anxiety. * Mother's Day Out * Preschool *

The Coop believes kids learn best by being kids... playing, going barefoot, exploring, asking questions, and learning by doing. It's joyful, messy, and exactly how childhood should be. The staff is incredibly kind and thoughtful, giving children the guidance they need while encouraging them to solve problems and build confidence on their own. I'm certain my daughter's strong sense of independence and self-confidence have been shaped in part by her time there. And then there is the community. The parent work days and events have led to some of the greatest friendships. Leaving for Kindergarten is bittersweet. We are so grateful to everyone at The Coop for helping us raise such a capable, curious, joyful little human.
