It's open 24 hours to drop off your recyclables, so there's no reason why you can't make it to do your little part to help save the environment!

(Great for cleaning out the house of boxes and packing paper.) Some folks seem to like to smash their glass bottles one at a time, just for kicks. I say if it keeps them off the street and in the recycling pile, more power to 'em! It's also great because you can drop off the three thousand plastic bags that the nice baggers at the Country Mart like to give out - the city recycles them, but just won't accept them in the curbside pick up because they'll end up "blowing all around town." There's also a compost pile on site (not open 24 hours a day, see website for hours) that accepts yard waste, and gives out free compost in the springtime! I was kind of sad they don't accept food waste as compost, but it's better than nothing. Keep up the good work, city and citizens of Rolla!!

The people that work in this post office must me the laziest people in all of Missouri. We sent a…read moreChristmas package to our daughter with her home address on the package and they would not put in her PO box because the box number was not on the package(really hard to look up the box holder). They are returning the package to Washington State so that we can put the PO number on the package and re-mail it. We checked with our local postmaster and he informed us that they would have cross-referenced the number and left a message in their box informing them of the package. He also said this was a directive from the Postmaster General. Now if you think our postmaster would have done this just because we live in a small town you are wrong. Dixon and our city are the same size. Thanks for nothing lazy Dixon postal workers
