My son is a student at this school and he loves it. It is a school for "gifted" children and while…read moreI hate that label it is what it is. The school goes from pre K-8th grade which is a great thing since the kids will be in one school until high school. It is a private school so it does cost quite a bit but it really is an exceptional school. Whether or not it's worth the money I can't really say. Personally, I would cringe at the price tag if Einstein himself were teaching my child. They just built a new building this year and it is amazing. So much better than the old building they were in. Lots of room and the capability to have more students, classes and teachers. Some pros: The facility is wonderful, the teachers are great and really care about the kids. Reading and math are based on ability, not on grade. So, if your 5-6 year old is reading like a nine-year old, they will be put in with those readers. The school isn't even "grade" based. there is no "1st grade", etc. It is level based. They have a GREAT fine arts program. Extensive art, music and drama programs that you won't find in a public school. Some cons: There is a bit of an elitist attitude there at times but I think it comes more from parents than the staff. There is a bit of communication problem with the school and the parents. There just doesn't seem to be a cohesive way for parents to get the information they need. If you're considering sending your child here, definitely sign up for a visit and a shadow day. Personally, as long as we can afford it, my son will be going to this school.

I feel more confident and motivated, and I have made some amazing friends. One of the things about SAA that makes it unique is that the fact that you will do as well as the work you put in. As long as you take advantage of the local resources and have some self motivation to do well, it isn't hard to master the schoolwork and beyond. The teachers are willing to help if you are willing to ask, even when it comes down to academics beyond the classroom. For example, when I needed help for my High School application, or improving my SAT scores, my teachers were glad to lend me a hand. Also, I have to give props to the excelled math program that SAA offers. Where I initially did not enjoy math as a subject at all, SAA motivated me to improve my math ability. I eventually became part of the Math Team and found a passion for mathematics. SAA was a great choice for me, and I got a lot out of my experience.

I have had two students go through the preschool program at St. Peter's and it is truly the best of…read morethe best! For the 2 year old students they even have a special outdoor play area with smaller slides and toys for that age group that both of my daughters have enjoyed! Their outdoor space and playground for the prek3 and older students is fantastic too (lots of swings and slides!) and I always felt my kids were getting such a great mix of education as well as fun outdoor time at school. Utilizing sensory bins, painting, motor room, etc. my kids have enjoyed so many fun and educational activities at this school. We have had excellent teachers for the past 4 years we have been here! Even with a child with food allergies I felt very supported by the staff including her in snacks/activities and checking in with me occasionally when needed to make sure she could be included. Even more recently St. Peter has allowed students to bring their own snacks in to accommodate the many food allergies children have nowadays. Ms. Cummins by far has been the best teacher we have ever had. She updates parents daily through the school's app (which not all teachers do!) and I always feel that I know what my child is doing at school by her fantastic communication. Anytime I have questions about something and email her she gets back to me immediately. My family has been so lucky to have her for 2 of our children. She is the most passionate, knowledgeable and caring teacher. Both of my children have learned SO much and grown by being in her class, I will forever be grateful! I would highly recommend this school to anyone in Arlington Heights and the northwest suburbs of Chicago area.

Both my boys had the same 2's teacher since that's how St. Peter does it. We have been so happy and blessed and honestly this teacher is as wonderful as they come. An absolute blessing. I was actually surprised to see another review as we had the exact opposite with that teacher. Mrs. Cummins is honestly a blessing and one of the most amazing teachers. She is the reason we never considered any other option for our second child. She has embraced all the difficulties he has had in this being his first exposure to school. She is openly communicative with all the parents and kids and I can speak for the other moms in the class as well we feel we hit the jackpot with her. When any issues arise she discusses them and works with us to find a solution that best fits our child, us and finally her. Our older son has Mrs. Grissom this year and he is thriving because of her. She treats the kids with kindness, love, and teaches them confidence. My older son was always more nervous in the school settings but she has really helped him blossom. Not only are the preschool teachers amazing but the staff is so incredibly kind and loving. They know your kids by name and ask how everyone is doing. Feeling this level of care has kept us at St. Peter. You can choose anywhere for your child to go but St. Peter has always been accommodating and caring.

Having my children attend three different Gardner Schools over the past few years, I can confidently say that this leadership team works together better than any I've experienced. As a parent, what I value most about my school administration experience is feeling **informed, respected, and included**. Becca, Emma, and Kim truly make the school feel like one big happy family. I appreciate the clear and timely communication--knowing what's going on at the school, important dates, and any changes without having to chase information. When I reach out with a question or concern, someone always responds thoughtfully and follows through. No matter who you speak with--Becca, Emma, or Kim--you receive the same information, which speaks volumes about how well they communicate and function as a **great team**. I also value how approachable and visible the administrators are. They're not just names on emails. This builds trust and reassures me that decisions are always made with students' best interests in mind and that parent feedback is welcomed and valued. Most of all, this positive administration experience gives me real peace of mind, knowing my children are in a school where adults are organized, caring, and truly working together. As for the teachers, morale at this school is clearly high--no small feat when working with children every day. What I love about The Gardner School Schaumburg experience is that it feels **supportive and balanced**. The teachers genuinely know the children and care about their well-being, not just academically but as individuals. Both of my children enjoy learning because lessons feel meaningful and engaging, especially when classes are interactive. I also love the strong sense of community--my children talk about their friends at home, which says everything. The structure of the day gives them rhythm, helps them stay motivated, and supports their growth. Overall, my experience reassures me that my children are growing, supported, and being prepared for what's next--not just getting through the day.

I can tell she absolutely loves it and is so excited to be there. She jumps and giggles when she sees them. They always have fun activities going on (hello bubble parties ) and cool themes each week. The teachers always keep us up to date during the day with pictures and notes. I know she's in good hands. Im very type A, and searched long for a daycare. I laugh because I was so set on another daycare prior to touring TGS, and had high expectations going in. I was so impressed and the vibe was warm, that we changed our minds and decided to go here. I'm really happy with our decision!

Oh God- the worst years of any kid's life- Jr High!…read more It's hard to give any Jr. High a good review, since it's such a terrible time for most kids. I tried to put much of those years out of my memory, but there are a couple things about Frost that really did stand out for me I'll recount: My teachers were decent enough- Mr. Catalano was my science teacher- he really rooted for me when I aced my HS entrance exams and got into the accelerated track. On the flip-side was Ms. Costansa, my English teacher, she actually fought to keep me out of the accelerated HS English track because of my misbehavior. Somehow she couldn't see that my misbehavior was largely due to boredom from being unchallenged by her criculum- duh? Oh well, at least in HS English I got to hang out with normal kids instead of the AP geeks. Gym class. OMG, Mr. Steger was notorious- every boy in the 5-6th grade feared entering Jr. High because of this guy's reputation for embarrassing and harassing the boys in the locker room. I never had to jump naked for my towel myself, but the dude was huge and scary and he got pretty mean when other kids acted up. Not a really good deal if you ask me. I'm sure he's long gone now, but that's how it was in the 80s. French class. I had the best French teacher ever- she was this totally cool, cosmopolitan, artsy lady. She really cared about us learning the language and the culture, and took us all to the Creperie in Chicago. Mlle Doyle was the best. Math- both my Pre Algebra and Algebra teachers were really good. The kids in these classes were ahead of the other kids in Math and we were taught that way- nice to have reasonably tough expectations placed on our progress. So Frost was just OK, there were some really nice teachers, some were pricks, some good experiences, and some pretty bad. I booked lots of geeky kids in the hallway and got away with it. I suppose that experience typified my whole experience here: not really good, but not really bad either- 3 stars.
