[Further update Whilst my overall review below is still all valid, I need to add a caveat following a blot on the service I received. I was unfortunate enough to need some other repairs doing to another car as an insurance job. Overall the work was to St Georges usual high standard (new bonnet, wing, bumper, headlight and painting). To cut a long story short, the bumper which was sourced from VW and fitted was defective (their view) and didn't fit as well as it should. St Georges were supposedly going to do some deal with the VW dealer to get it replaced, but this never happened despite chasing. I should not have had to worry about this as my insurer paid St Georges so the buck should stop with them. It's a shame as their work is typically fantastic, but I have not gone back for other work since]. Family run business which is big enough to have all the facilities whilst still caring enough to do a great job. I'm very fussy about the condition of our cars and have had nightmares in the past with other places. St Georges was recommended to me by a friend of a friend who deals with many of the bodyshops in the area. He said it was the only place in the area he'd trust. I agree. Great job from start to finish. They replaced the door on my wife's car. Paint was good on the repainted door and the matching with the rest of the side of the car was spot on. I got to see behind the door card inside the door whilst refitting some speakers and they had moved over all the gubbins from the old door (window motors, wiring etc) with not a single clip missing or piece of tape out of place. You couldn't tell it wasn't from the factory. Just battling with insurance on my Mum's car as she was unfortunate enough to take her car to one of the big insurance repair centres. The contrast in quality is stark and we'll be taking her car into St Georges to get it put back to how it should be. Update: got the work on my Mum's car rectified at St Georges as well and that was just as good. read more
